Most stars get one wax figure at Madame Tussauds (if any), but Whitney Houston‘s got four. Representing the singer at various points in her lengthy career, the figures – which were unveiled to commemorate the upcoming one year anniversary of her death – will each appear at a different Madame Tussauds location around the world.

Houston’s manager and sister-in-law Pat Houston said in a statement:

“We were extremely honored when Madame Tussauds approached us about doing four figures of Whitney from different points in her 30-year career. This is something we are excited to do for the fans.”

The figures will debut in New York on Thursday. That Bodyguard Whitney is fierce, right?

Whitney Houston‘s death in early 2012 was a tragedy – one that was shocking despite her decades long struggle with substance abuse and inability to overcome the demons which led her to such self-abuse. It was an event in pop culture that affected nearly everyone, so widespread was Whitney’s impact, but perhaps saddest of all was the fact that she left behind a 17-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, who absolutely adored her mother despite her faults.

It’s bad enough that Whitney’s brother recently admitted that he was responsible for turning the late singer on to hard drugs, but Bobbi is now speaking out against her grandmother Cissy Houston’s new book on Whitney’s life, which she finds “disrespectful” and over-the-top.

Try to translate teenagespeak into English: Bobbi’s mad and Grandma’s in the shit. I don’t know what’s in this book and part of me doesn’t really care, but I think it’s pretty disgusting that she wants to make money off her daughter less than a year after she passed away. I’m team BK on this one.

While growing up in New Jersey, Whitney Houston was close to both of her big brothers, Gary and Michael. Since his sister’s death, Michael, who many in the family called Whitney’s twin, hasn’t spoken publicly. Now, Michael reveals how he introduced Whitney to drugs in the ’80s, long before Whitney married Bobby Brown.

Here’s some memorable quotes from dude’s interview with Oprah regarding his sister:

I’m living, but I’m not alive. …. I felt responsible for her, I always have. … It’s painful. I feel responsible for her. I let it go so far. You know, we were always … being together most of the time, her following behind me, you know … and then when you get into drugs, you do that together, too, and it just got out of hand. The drugs were rough. … Yeah, we did everything together, so once I was into that [drugs], then she followed suit.

Later in the interview, Whitney’s brother states that the first time she ever did cocaine was with him, and that it’s a “demon” that he needs to face every day. What a sad, sad situation all around. Really. The whole thing is just miserable and disappointing and wrong.

And also? Wow. We’ve been this hard on Bobby Brown all this damn time for no reason? Oh, wait, no—no, Bobby was still a beater and a cheater and siring a daughter who’s got incest issues. Hm. I guess there are reasons, but not the reasons that he’s most famous for. Good Lord.

Oh now, this is sad. What’s sad? That Whitney’s dead? Well, yes, that’s pretty sad, but it’s not all that unexpected, come on. Not with a decades-long battle with drug abuse. You know what’s really sad? That this song has even been released, and for a few reasons. One? It’s crap. It’s seriously pure crap, and if Whitney hadn’t passed, I highly doubt this movie would even make the cut for the ‘Sparkle soundtrack. It’s that bad. Second? Poor Whitney couldn’t even sing anymore. You can just hear how heavy-handed the digital technicians were on this song—but just with Whitney‘s part. It sounds like her voice was dubbed in and added at a later date. I’m not going to even use the word “autotune” here, because “autotune” would give the impression that a flawless performance was at hand, and there’s nothing even close to that at hand here.

Me, I say let sleeping dogs lie, and allow Whitney’s fans to remember her the way she used to be—how she was during her prime—and not mess around with this sad-ass business of hearing and seeing what it’s like to watch a music great unravel before your very eyes. Damn.

But this clip, this was different. Flipping through the channels last night after I’d watched my third recorded ‘Big Bang Theory’ in a row, I happened to catch Bobbi Kristina Brown‘s acceptance speech for Whitney Houston’s Millennium Award, and I have to say … this girl doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell in making it in the entertainment industry. That, and also, the award was a really nice thing to do for the departed Whitney, and Jordin Sparks is a pretty little singer.

Finally, I guess there’s only one question remaining that needs to be answered: when is Bobbi Kristina Brown going to drop the “Bobbi” and the “Brown” and change over to “Kristina Houston” like we’ve all been waiting for her to do? She might actually have the aforementioned snowball’s chance in hell in the entertainment business if she DID drop her douchebag dad’s names like a hot crack pipe. Which she should.

Yeah, that creepy new reality show I told you guys about yesterday, the one starring Bobbi Kristina and the rest of Whitney Houston‘s family? It’s supposed to focus on them coping with their loss, but also it’s going to be about Bobbi Kristina and how she’s such a star.

Whitney Houston’s mother is telling friends … she fully supports the idea of a family reality show because she believes the exposure will be GREAT for Bobbi Kristina’s singing career.

As we previously reported, the family just inked a TV deal with Lifetime to star in a reality show that will follow Whitney’s relatives in the wake of the singer’s untimely death.

Houston family sources tell TMZ … Cissy Houston knows BK shares Whitney’s passion for music … and she believes a reality show could be the perfect place to showcase Bobbi’s talent.

We’re told … Cissy also believes a reality show will “help with the healing process” by “keeping the family as one.”

Cissy also likes the fact that her “extended family” will be making money from the deal.

But don’t expect Kardashian-style antics on the Houston show — producers are suggesting it will have a more serious tone … at least for now.

Am I the only one who doesn’t understand how this show can do both things? Are they going to sit in a circle and talk about Whitney before Bobbi Kristina sings a heartfelt cover of “I Will Always Love You”? Or will they focus on how Whitney Houston isn’t truly gone because a piece of her lives on in Bobbi Kristina? Because neither of those things sound too awesome.

She’s not horrible, right? But I just don’t think there’s any way for her to be really successful, not without a voice as big or bigger than Whitney’s. But hey, if you don’t star in a creepy, exploitative reality show in an attempt to achieve stardom, you’ll never know what could have been.

Well, this is creepy. Whitney passed away only a few months ago, but it’s already time to exploit her family’s grief and cash in on it. Yep, there’s going to be a reality show all about Whitney’s family and how they’re coping with their loss.

Should a teenage girl grieving over the passing of her mom be the subject of a reality series? Three months after Whitney Houston’s sudden death, her family has signed on to do a reality series. Lifetime has picked up The Houston Family Chronicles, a 10-episode docu-series to premiere later this year. It will follow the lives of Pat Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law and manager, who now manages her estate; Pat’s daughter Rayah; Whitney’s brother Gary; daughter Bobbi Kristina; and mother, Grammy-winning singer Cissy Houston, as they try to pick up the pieces after the pop star’s untimely death. The series will follow Pat and her husband, Gary, as they try to support Whitney’s teenage daughter Bobbi Kristina. In that, Pat enlists the help of her and Whitney’s inner circle, including Grammy-winner Dionne Warwick and gospel legend CeCe Winans. “The tragic loss of Whitney Houston left a void in the hearts of people all over the world, but certainly none more so than her beloved family,” said Lifetime’s EVP Rob Sharenow. “In this series, the multi-generations of the Houston family will bravely reveal their lives as they bond together to heal, love, and grow.”

Pat Houston said that over the past few years she had been developing an unscripted  project about her and her family with producers Tracey Baker Simmons and Wanda Shelley. “The unexpected passing of Whitney certainly affects the direction of the show,” she said. “However, it is my hope that others will be enlightened as they watch our family heal and move forward.” Jarrett Creative will produce the series, with Julie Insogna-Jarrett, Seth Jarrett, Tracey Baker Simmons, Wanda Shelley and Pat Houston serving as executive producers.

Whitney Houston’s family and especially Bobbi Kristina, have been a big ratings draw following the singer’s death. Oprah Whinfrey’s exclusive interview with them drew OWN’s largest audience ever.

Look, I love reality shows. I really, really do. But I like the ones about frivolous things, like cakes or pawn shops, or the ones where the cast members are in on the joke. I even like ones that are obviously scripted. But this show about Whitney’s family will probably be none of those things. It will be uncomfortable and strange and just … creepy.

Would anyone actually be interested in this show?

TMZ has a copy of the 911 call, where the front desk attendant at the Beverly Hilton hotel was heard telling dispatchers that Whitney was “apparently” not breathing. Security officially reported an unconscious female in a hotel room, and when asked if CPR instructions could be given, the front desk claimed that the woman in the hotel room who had kept ringing and hanging up was unreachable. An LA coroner had this to say about whether or not Whitney could have been saved:

“There’s too many unknown variables for me to comment on that. … [And] based on the findings of our investigation and our review of the coroner’s report, we have determined that this is not a criminal matter.”

See, now, this is interesting. Who was this lady? And, aside from my knee-jerk reaction of “Maybe everyone was just afraid of bad publicity,” why the hell would she call the front desk instead of 911 directly? Were there really that many drugs lying around that their very presence took precedence over the maybe-or-maybe-not dead body on the floor? What the hell kind of reality do these people live in, anyhow? Like, if it were you, and there was this unconscious lady on the floor that you probably had some sort of relationship with, or at the very least, knew on a professional level, would you f-ck around playing Ding-Dong-Ditch with the front desk, or would you, you know, get shit done and call 911 like you should?

I’m not going to pretend to know the circumstances, and the coroner really said it best when he claimed that there’s just too many unknown variables to really discern what could have happened versus what did happen, but come on. This was somebody’s life at stake, here, even if she was an unstable drug-addict with one foot in the grave (and the other on a slip ‘n slide).

A “spoon with a white crystal-like substance on it” and a “white powdery substance” — which we know was later tested and determined to be cocaine — was found in the hotel room where Whitney Houston died … this according to the singer’s final autopsy report.

The report, which gives a detailed description of Whitney’s room when officials arrived, says “Located on the south portion of the counter was a small spoon with a white crystal-like substance in it and a rolled up piece of white paper, along with other miscellaneous items.”

“Located in the top drawer, in the north side of the counter were remnants of a white powdery substance, and a portable mirror on a base.” Officials found more white powder on the base of the mirror.”

The report also states, “[Whitney] possibly overdosed on a narcotic substance, prescription medications, over the counter medications and alcohol.”

According to the report, Whitney’s body was discovered FACE DOWN in the bath tub … with a “bloody purge coming from her nose.” Officials say there were no signs of foul play.

The report notes Whitney had a history of substance abuse … which was evident by a “perforation of posterior nasal septum.”

The singer’s official cause of death is listed as accidental drowning — but heart disease and “chronic” cocaine use were contributing factors.

As TMZ previously reported, Whitney had cocaine in her system at the time of her death — which tests showed she used immediately prior to her death.

Officials say Houston also had traces of marijuana in her system … as well as Xanax (anxiety medication), Flexeril (muscle relaxer) and Benadryl (allergy medication).

Wow. So this is just one hot mess of a story, now, isn’t it? All of these things were found in her system and in her hotel room? Damn. Damn to the lowest level of holy hell, seriously. How is it that one woman who had, like, the entire world at her feet do such f-cking damage to her career, her body, her life, so much so that this is the end result – the whole cumulative result? Sickening. Seriously sickening.

Remember back in February, about two seconds after Whitney Houston died, there was talk of a biopic starting up? Apparently the film was in talks before Whitney’s passing, and we only just heard about it then because … yeah, I’m not so sure I believe that this isn’t a creepy move to capitalize on someone’s death. But regardless of taste, this movie looks like it’s happening, so we’re going to talk about it, all right?

When the story first came out, we heard that Rihanna and Jennifer Hudson were being considered for the lead role. I thought that choice was kind of a no brainer, you know, since one of those ladies has an amazing voice, quite a bit like Whitney’s, actually, and the other makes auto-tuned pop music and uses sex appeal to sell her records. I thought that the idea of Rihanna being cast as Whitney Houston was kind of silly, and that surely within weeks Jennifer Hudson would get the part and then everyone involved in the film could officially commence with their creepy movie. I was wrong:

If the opportunity ever presented itself, Rihanna is hoping to make it known she would “love” the chance to play Whitney Houston in a biopic based on the singer’s life.

Opening up to The Press Association, Rihanna, 24, discussed her attachment to the legendary vocalist, who died tragically on February 11 at the age of 48.

“My first song that I remember falling love with was a Whitney Houston song: ‘I Will Always Love You,’” Rihanna shared. “It was really inspiring and it made me develop a passion for music, so really, she’s partly responsible for me being here in this industry.”

The “We Found Love” singer added she understands the type of commitment needed to undertake such a meaningful part.

“That would be something that I would have to give my entire life to do, because I would really want to pull it off,” Rihanna told reporters. “That’s a huge, huge role and whoever does it has to do a good job.”

Ok, let’s theorize, all right? Maybe Rihanna really can sing. Maybe Rihanna has the ability to belt out a really impressive “I Will Always Love You” and bring us all to tears. Maybe Rihanna does the sort of music she does because she likes it and she wants to have fun. That’s all well and good, but here’s the thing: no.

I just don’t understand why this whole Rihanna as Whitney Houston thing is being pushed at all, especially in a world where Jennifer Hudson exists. Jennifer has proven herself to be a phenomenal singer, an amazing actress, and really, I think she looks a bit like Whitney, more than Rihanna, anyway. Am I crazy for not understanding why she’s not the obvious choice here?

Well, the thing that sticks out the most to me about this trailer is when Whitney asks one of her daughters, “Why is my life not enough of a cautionary tale to you?” because damn. That’s just eerie. This here, Whitney Houston appearing in the first released trailer of Sparkle, the last project she worked on before dying of a drug-induced heart attack earlier this year, is eerie. The similarities to her real life and the character of one of her fictional daughters (not the portrayal by Jordin Sparks) are eerie. Seeing Whitney struggling to re-achieve stardom when she was one of the hottest tickets going is eerie. But probably the eeriest thing of all is that, had she not kicked back in February, she might have actually done what she’d been aiming to do over the last decade – return to a respectable place in public perception, and jump-start her singing career with new music, which will be featured in the film.

Whitney’s mother, Cissy Houston, recently sat down for an interview to set the record straight about many things (that she was “not broke” at the time of her death, though contradicting information had previously been presented). From MTV:

Cissy revealed that it was difficult to avoid all of the headlines that swirled after Whitney’s death, including rumors that she died in debt. “The media is awful. People have come from here and there, don’t know what they’re talking about, people I haven’t seen in twenty years..here they come, think they know everything,” she said. “But that’s not true. God got his way of taking care of all of it, and I’m glad I know that… One time I thought about coming on [TV]..but I know my temper so I’m gonna let them say and think what they want to say, I just hope they never come and say it to me.”

“These people don’t know anything about her, all they know is what they hear–bad things,” Cissy added, alluding to the late singer’s battle with drugs and her turbulent relationships. “Shes had her ups and downs, like who hasn’t?”

When asked if there’s anything she wished she could’ve done to help Whitney while she was still alive, Cissy expressed no regrets. “Not really because my children are my whole life,” she said. “She was very special to me. Very special. She was my only daughter and a good one. Very good, she looked out for her family.”

The interview came from a pre-taped show that aired on a local New Jersey station, where the family originally hailed from, and it was Cissy’s first public interview since the death of Whitney weeks ago. I have to say, that takes class to take your story to a hometown news station, when in reality, major publications were probably (OK, maybe) seeking the official word of the legendary Whitney Houston’s mom. I know she dug her own grave with a jagged piece of mirror and a razorblade, but still. RIP Whitney. We’re still missing you.

Whitney Houston died as the result of drowning in what the Los Angeles County coroner has ruled as an accidental death. The coroner said heart disease and cocaine use were also factors in her death on Feb. 11. Cocaine was found in her system, the coroner said. The ruling ends weeks of speculation over how the pop star died.

Authorities collected several bottles of prescription drugs from Houston’s suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where she was found dead. But officials have said the amounts of drugs did not seem unusually large, leaving it unclear whether the medications had anything to do with the singer’s death.

So, what happened then? Whitney took a Xanax, and deciding to chill out, fell asleep and drowned while she dozed? Or did she just fall asleep in the tub, trying to relax? Either way, that sucks. It really sucks some hard, nubby ones. The thing about the cocaine, though, that’s got me bothered. Whitney’s mom, Cissy Houston, told TMZ this afternoon that the relapse (though there are some out there who say that you have to quit something in order to relapse) was probably due to anxiety surrounding her big comeback, which was supposed to occur at this year’s Grammys.

Whitney died the night before they were held.

Whitney’s family released the following statement regarding the report earlier today:

“We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure.”

Well. RIP, girl. What a way to go.
