Amanda Bynes is out of rehab now and hopefully headed for a better life but it unfortunately doesn’t erase past events. Thankfully, one of Bynes’s “victims” (to quote Radar Online) forgives her for her destruction. Her name is Bonnie Braate, and 4 months ago, Ms. Bynes set fire to her driveway for no apparent reason. Ms. Braate had this to say to Radar:
I just hope she got better. I’m glad she’s getting treated at home, people don’t get over drug addiction overnight. There’s nothing to be angry about, it doesn’t do you any good. I forgive her. I feel sorry for her that she got herself into that mind.
I’ve put it behind me and I don’t need it all dragging back up. I’ve put it behind me. I’m glad she got better, [but] I’m not sure what good [an apology] could do.
I suppose it [the fire] got her into treatment. And I was very fortunate that passersby saw her and it didn’t spread to my house or my neighbors house.
This lady’s got a great attitude.
Bynes appears to have moved back in with her parents. There’s been talk she’s applying to fashion schools. She was spotted shopping at Costco with her dad and mom (above). Paparazzi, PLEASE go easy on her. Jesus.

Oddly enough, I just found myself sitting and wondering the other day, “Huh, I wonder how Amanda Bynes is doing!” Sad but true. Well, she must be doing a lot better than she was a few months ago, as she’s left rehab and was released into her mother’s care. From now on, she’s going to try and live a normal life and will probably even go back to school to learn about fashion design.
“Amanda and her entire family would like to thank everyone who’s contacted them with good thoughts and wishes for Amanda’s recovery,” says a statement from lawyer Tamar Arminak. “Amanda has completed her inpatient rehabilitation and she’s feeling better every day.”
Bynes, 27, had been forcibly hospitalized following a driveway-burning incident in July, but was eventually moved to a Malibu rehabilitation facility.
“She’s now looking at various colleges with the intention of majoring in fashion design,” the statement continues. “She’s mentioned before she’s interested in creating a clothing line.”
“Despite the fact Amanda is no longer in a facility, her outpatient treatment is continuing. She’s very happy to reestablish the loving relationship with her family that she once shared.”
As Bynes continues her recovery, her mother Lynn will remain in indefinite control over Bynes’s well-being and finances, Arminak confirmed.
Damn, so another Britney Spears situation all over again. I really hope that her mother is solid and isn’t going to use this opportunity to squander all of her money. I know judges must think they’re doing this for the star’s own safety and well-being, but I imagine it’ll be hard for Amanda to get back to any semblance of normality when she knows her parents are in control of everything she does and she’s got minimal chance of ever regaining her own autonomy. Really, really sad.

Amanda Bynes won’t be getting out of standing trial for her DUI case. Though earlier reports suggested her lawyer would fight against it, saying she wasn’t mentally competent, that didn’t seem to fly, because Ms. Bynes will indeed be present. Here’s more from TMZ:
Amanda’s case was in Mental Health Court this AM, and the judge read the court-ordered medical evaluation of the actress, and determined she is now competent to face the DUI charges.
Amanda’s lawyer, Rich Hutton, did not object to the findings so the criminal case — which was put on hold — will now go forward.
Also, good news, “sources say the ruling will have NO impact on her conservatorship.” That’s good news because Bynes really needs to be under the care of someone else, preferably her parents.

Amanda Bynes was recently transferred to a rehab facility to cope with her mental illnesses. And her mom has something to say. Ms. Bynes’ twitter account was recently hacked, so between that and a lot of misinformation circulating, it seems that Bynes’ mom felt the need to release a statement on her daughter’s well-being. From ABC News:
… almost 99 percent of the things written about my daughter in various media outlets are false or misleading. Please know that neither myself or other family members have ever released any information regarding her treatment or diagnosis. We truly believe in keeping our daughter’s situation private for now.
I guess from now on we won’t say anything about Bynes unless we’re 100% sure it’s verified. It’s what we’ve tried to do, but now we know that “almost 99%” of info is false, and that’s a huge percentage.
I really hope Amanda comes out of this on the other side a brighter, more functional, happier person.
