It’s a great week for Hollywood parents. Michael Douglas was accused of turning his son in to a drug addict, Brooke Mueller’s friends are saying she turned to crack under the pressure of motherhood and we’ve just learned that Ryan O’Neal isn’t allowed to visit his son in rehab because it’s not in Redmond’s best interest. So yeah, I would say you should probably have another kid, Tom and Katie.

A source told Radar Online that the judge was not messing around when it came to Redmond getting treatment this time around. That includes keeping him away from any negative influences. The source said, “Ryan has been restricted from visiting Redmond while he is at Impact. It’s been determined that it’s not in the best interest for Redmond’s treatment for Ryan to be visiting his son at this time.”

The reason for the banning isn’t totally clear, except that we’re talking about Ryan O’Neal, who doesn’t have a great track record as a parent when it comes to keeping his kids sober.

Remember that pretty face? The son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal, Redmond O’Neal? Well, I guess being behind bars while his mother died wasn’t enough to shake him straight, because he’s been arrested yet again on drug charges. Worst part? He left court ordered rehab to go score. You know that’s going to buy him some more time in lockdown.

From People:

The troubled son of the late Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal was busted on a drug violation on Dec. 29, a Los Angeles DA spokeswoman said Tuesday. He had been undergoing in-patient rehab since September.

At a hearing Tuesday, Judge Michael Tynan ordered Redmond, 24, into a 30-day jail rehab facility pending a Feb. 2 sentencing hearing for violating probation.

“It seems to me you haven’t got a clue as to what recovery means,” Judge Tynan lectured Redmond, who was nervously shaking his leg while wearing a blue L.A. County jail jumpsuit. “It’s a lifetime commitment. It’s grinding, hard, painful work.”

Is anyone else really sick and tired of seeing rich kids screw up on their parents dime? Sure, he’s paying the consequences, but he’s not learning any lessons and that’s why he keeps winding back up in jail. If anything, he’s just costing tax payers money at this point and it’s a real shame because if anyone could afford to go to rehab, it’s a celebrity’s kid. I have a feeling that Redmond is either going to straighten out on his own and go Born Again on us or he’ll just die. The courts aren’t getting through to this kid, so I’m thinking those are the only options, unfortunately.

Farrah Fawcett

Oh, this is such sad news!!!

Redmond O’Neal was allowed to leave jail this weekend — where he’s being held on drug charges — to visit his mother, Farrah Fawcett, who is battling cancer. Redmond had a police escort, but, still. Jails aren’t typically in the habit of letting people out to make just any housecall. Farrah must be very ill.

Our thoughts are with you, Farrah!!!

Young Redmond O’Neal — the son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal — is still cooling his heels in Twin Towers because no one will bail him out. And apparently no one will visit him, either. He’s been there for a week and he hasn’t had a single visitor. His family is making it a point not to visit him. They want him to learn a lesson.

And believe it or not, he’s not even in jail for his recent attempt to bring heroin into a prison. He’s there for probation violation, stemming from a dirty test when he was in rehab for an entirely different drug arrest.

With Farrah struggling to beat anal cancer right now, I completely understand this family’s decision to leave Redmond in jail. He’s safer in there! The last thing the O’Neals need to add to their list of stresses is a dead son, and it’s way harder to OD on heroin in Twin Towers than on the streets of LA. Good parenting decision, Ryan! Much better than when you decided to do meth with your son. Oh, shit. I just had a thought. Maybe Ryan is leaving Redmond in jail because he’s sick of the kid bogarting the meth.

Wow, Redmond, check your ass into rehab and take it seriously this time, dude. You’re breakin’ my heart here, kid.

Your mother, Farrah Fawcett, is unconscious in the hospital, probably dying of cancer in the near future. This is some really rough shit. I get that. You don’t wanna have to feel it. I get that, too.

But you know what you really don’t wanna do, buddy? You really don’t wanna make this harder for your mom and your family by getting busted once again with drugs.

Redmond O’Neal, the son of actors Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett, was arrested this morning on charges of trying to smuggle drugs into a county jail, adding to his long history of drug arrests.

The arrest came during a routine security check in the parking lot of Pitchess Detention South Facility in Santa Clarita around 9:30 this morning, said Steve Whitmore, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. O’Neal, 24, had apparently come to the facility to visit an inmate. He told sheriff’s deputies before the search began that he had drugs on him, Whitmore added.

He was taken into custody and bail was set at $25,000, according to the sheriff’s website. It was not yet known whether O’Neal posted bail.

How many drugs arrests is this now, kiddo? What the fuck were you thinking, bringing drugs to a prison? Are you out of your goddamn mind? Is it making anything easier?

Cut this out. Break the cycle here. Get your shit together and be present for your mom right now. If she’s gonna die, let her do so knowing her son is sober and healthy and by her side. It doesn’t have to go down like this. It’s your call.

Here’s poor Redmond O’Neal, being shamelessly hounded by the paparazzi as he goes on a grocery run. Redmond, you’ll recall, was arrested along with his father, Ryan O’Neal, early Wednesday morning, when the cops found meth on Redmond and in Ryan’s bedroom.

I do feel bad for the poor kid, who’s never done anything to put himself in the spotlight, trying to deal with these paparazzi assholes, but then he comes with this line: “It’s just a major misunderstanding. Life goes on, you know,” and later adds that “it happens to everyone.”

I totally hear that, Redmond. I’ve been in the same situation. I don’t smoke meth, either. But sometimes I pass out in my bathtub after three or four days of smoking crack, and I wake up two days later and all my crackhead friends are gone, and now there’s fucking meth in my bedroom. And I just stare at the shit, like, “This must be some sort of a misunderstanding.”

Best of luck to ya, kid.
