This is Stella, one of the most adorable puppies ever. If you’ll remember, yesterday I told you about her and about how Pink paid the $5,000 it took to get this puppy surgery that saved her life. And honestly, after hearing that awful story and seeing that precious face, how could you not help this puppy if you had the means to do so?

I can’t tell you exactly when it happened, but at some point, everyone absolutely fell in love with Pink. Did you guys notice it? I think it was when she had her adorable baby and became such a badass and precious mom. Of course people loved her back when she was singing about getting parties started and all that, but now she’s sort of untouchable in all her glory. At least, that’s what I think.

You know what else I think? I think this story about Pink saving a puppy’s life might touch your heart in ways you’ve never imagined:

P!nk was surfing the Internet recently, when she stumbled upon a story about a puppy that had been thrown off an L.A. overpass … and suffered 3 broken legs when it landed in the L.A. river.

We’re told the dog was in bad shape … and required major surgery FAST … or else.

That’s when P!nk sprung into action — contacting the Ace of Hearts animal rescue organization and offering to pay for any medical expense it took to save the dog’s life.

$5,000 later … the dog went under the knife — and recovered!!

And it gets better — we’re told the dog has since been adopted by a loving family … and will probably get a big, juicy bone for Christmas.

Is anybody else crying?  If not, then at least is anybody else convinced that Pink is a hero of our generation?

Me too. I’m totally living it. Now, however, she looks quite like this:

Amazing, right? This photo was taken at this past weekend’s premiere of Happy Feet Two, and I’m not sure she’s ever really looked better. A lot of people say that pregnancy and child-bearing ruins your figure, but I don’t know. Pink sure looks to be the opposite of that idea, and if I think real hard, I’m sure I could come up with others, too, but hey. Maybe I’m just saying that to make myself feel better in preparation of what’s to come. Whee!

I loved Pink when she sang songs like “Don’t Let Me Get Me” and made me feel like less of an awkward, 12-year-old mess, and I love her now. And just when I thought I couldn’t love her any more, she goes and proves herself to be one of the most kickass moms in Hollywood. If you weren’t convinced yet, check out this precious interview:

On how she wanted her daughter to be born: “We watched Ricki Lake’s documentary The Business of Being Born early on. It was so enlightening and empowering. We took all kinds of classes and decided to work with midwives at The Sanctuary … I was really looking forward to the whole rite of passage — giving birth perfectly present, unmedicated, in the way nature intended.”

On what actually happened: “She was in the frank breech position, which is head up with her legs up by her head in a pike position. We tried everything to turn her around. Turns out this little girl had other plans — she is my daughter, after all. It all turned out perfectly in the end, even though it wasn’t what we intended, because she is healthy and happy and so am I. We’ll go for our natural birth next time, for sure.”

On her daughter, Willow Sage Hart, and her name: “The willow is my favorite tree. I grew up near one. It’s the most flexible tree in nature and nothing can break it  — no wind, no elements. It can bend and withstand anything. I love that sentiment. I want that for her. Sage is cleansing and sacred. And it sounded great together. It doesn’t hurt that her last name is Hart — flexible cleansed heart.”

On motherhood: “[Willow's] been amazing. Everyone gives you this terrifying picture of no sleep at all, bickering which leads to divorce … they made it sound like waterboarding. It’s not that bad! I think I’ve cried more than she has and that’s just because I’m emotional and a little nuts.”

On Carey Hart: “Carey is a natural. He calms her down like only my boob can,” Pink jokes, adding that the doting dad wakes for every feeding and diaper change. ”I knew when I met him he’d be a great father, but watching him fall in love, watching him nurture her, I’ve never been so in love with him in my life. He keeps thanking me for giving her to him. It’s a beautiful time.”

Seriously, how adorable can one family be?

Earlier this week, Pink released the first photo of her daughter, Willow Sage Hart (still such a kickass name, right?).  It was and still is super cute, as you can see above, and it melted all our hearts. And then, last night, Pink posted a note on her site explaining why she released the picture, and I thought it was just wonderful, and by far the best response to paparazzi attacks I’ve ever heard.

It’s kind of long, so you can go ahead and jump on through to read the whole thing, but I strongly suggest that you do.  If you don’t, just know that she’s donating all the money she gets from that little family portrait up there to charity and that Carey Hart has been pooped on.  Do you love it or what?

We are absolutely blissed out in love over here! To our fans and friends all over the world, thank you for all of the prayers and well wishes throughout this time in our life! Carey is a natural, (I knew he would be) and I finally found out what love really means. Don’t worry, I’m not writing an album full of sappy lullabies. Not yet, anyways?

 

In the interest of full disclosure: (AND BECAUSE I TELL IT LIKE I SEE IT)

 

Due to the unsettling, surprisingly aggressive and unsafe measures that the paparazzi seem to be willing to go to in order to secure that “first shot” of our daughter–stalking us, chasing us in cars and sitting outside of our home all day and all night, as new parents Carey and I decided that we would release personal photos of our Willow, and donate all of the money to charity.

 

We will be donating the money to children’s’ charities, among them one of our favorites, the Ronald McDonald House, an organization that houses and cares for the families of sick children so they can be together during treatment, as well as Autism Speaks.

 

Like any parents, we believe our little girl deserves the right to have privacy and be protected, but unfortunately, this media climate doesn’t seem to provide for that. I feel so grateful that after many years of hard work, music and motorcycles have elevated both Carey and me to such a place that the public has supported us in building our life and lifestyle together. We recognize that celebrity has its upsides and downsides and do our best to manage just being people without hiring stylists and bodyguards before one of us goes to the store to buy some milk. I’ve seen some photos of myself that make me smile and some that make me less smiley. But you see, it’s one thing to harass and stalk us, the adults, the celebrity that signed up for this life, but children should be protected and safe. There should be a clear distinction between us.

 

In EVERY other country that I recall, children’s faces are blurred out in magazine photos. Why is USA the only country that continues to financially incentivize intrusive paparazzi behavior to capitalize on photos of babies, infants and children? Why is this acceptable to any of us? Why is this even legal? These are questions I ask myself as a new parent. Why are celebrities/public figures having to seek restraining orders to keep strange grown men with still and video cameras from sitting perched outside of their children’s pre-schools and elementary schools, preying on little innocent kids? After all, if a stranger was sitting outside of a school taking photographs of random little girls and boys, wouldn’t he be arrested? Or, at least in Philadelphia, he would have to face a more primal sort of recourse. But because it’s the child of a celebrity, somehow it’s okay? I’m just not sure what is wrong with us as a society, that we do more than tolerate this, but our appetite for it seems insatiable. We buy these pictures. We buy these magazines that publish these paparazzi pictures. WHERE DOES IT STOP?

 

Here’s the bottom line: we don’t want you to take our little girl’s picture. We don’t want you to one day follow our little girl home from school. We don’t want our little girl’s picture in a magazine or on a blog. If you take or publish her picture, it is against our wishes, and without our consent as parents, as people.

 

Carey and I are new parents. We know we have so much to learn in our new role and are thankful for the family and friends around us. Not a day goes by that we are not grateful to the universe and to our fans and friends who believe in us–and to our foes, too (our best teachers)–for the incredibly interesting privileged lives we get to live each day. But this is about our daughter who just got here. In the face of camera lenses as long as my arm and flashbulbs as bright as the sun, Willow is powerless. All she has to protect her is us. But that’s not all she has; she has you.

 

To anyone out there that buys a magazine, or goes onto a website to look at pictures of other people’s children, may you at least think for a second about what you may inadvertently be supporting. We are so appreciative that people are interested in seeing our daughter. We WANT to share our joys with you, but as parents (and new parents), we should be able to govern these decisions, shouldn’t we? And to be clear, I’m speaking directly to these “stolen” photographs–paparazzi photos.

 

So when you see our middle fingers up in all of our pictures, now you know the motivation. It’s all we can do to stop images of a newborn baby from being printed without our consent. Can you imagine a world where they would blur out our middle finger to protect a “consumer” over blurring out an innocent child to protect their integrity and privacy?

 

Thank you for letting me say my piece. Do I expect this letter to change the world? No. But if it plants a seed of awareness, if a politician or an activist or a legislator or a teacher or police officer is prompted to even think about it–let alone engage, I have done my part on behalf of my daughter. Not surprising that lesson one from me to my daughter is to let one’s voice be heard.

 

I’ve never shied away from a controversial opinion because of the fear of bad press. My music and my fans and I connect year after year because I talk TO them and, man, do they so beautifully talk TO me. This is such a meaningful dialogue in my life. To all of my friends out there, I love you and I appreciate your help with this, and this happy little family cannot wait to visit your countries again and play music and rejoice in all the beauty that we share and have shared together all over the world.

The first photo of the Hart family has emerged! Pink and her husband, Carey Hart, gave birth to their first child a few weeks ago, Willow Sage Hart. Not only is that possibly the cutest name ever, but these three are absolutely adorable together. It’s kind of like when Nicole Richie and Joel Madden had their first kid, just better.

And incidentally, Pink is looking AMAZING these days. Seriously, this might be the best I’ve ever seen her look. Way to be a normal girl, girl!

Look, it’s Pink and Carey Hart and their positively adorable new baby (sort of pictured, but not, really) getting some caffeinated treats at a local coffee place.

Pink is looking fabulous – and normal, if you’ve ever seen anyone aside from Gisele Bundchen pregnant – post-pregnancy, and it’s apparent that she’s breastfeeding, ’cause THOSE SUCKERS ARE HUGE.

Congratulations to the new family – I can’t wait to see pictures of this little doll!

And not a moment too soon, dang. Have you seen recent photos of girlfriend? It looked like she was seriously about to bust at the seams. Or, because she’s living, and not a manufactured doll, pop at the bellybutton. That sucker was starting to look like a cabin repress valve.

Pink gave birth to her daughter (not a son, snap), Willow Sage Hart (which is ACTUALLY a really cute name if you think about it long enough), yesterday in Los Angeles. She and husband, Carey Hart, announced the birth via Twitter, naturally:

“We are ecstatic to welcome our new beautiful healthy happy baby girl, Willow Sage Hart. She’s gorgeous, just like her daddy [Carey Hart]. #beyondblessed”

Congrats to the new family! My advice to Pink? If you’re going to raise your girl in Hollywood, just KEEP HER AWAY FROM DISNEY. We all know how that BS pans out.

OK, I came across these photos this afternoon and I was confused as fuck. Pink, who’s apparently pregnant, was at this movie premiere of something last night looking like … alright, well, looking like either Judy Dench or Mrs. Roper. And it’s positively KILLING me that I can’t put my finger on just which one it is. I mean, I’ve always had this wicked indecisive streak in me, but facing up against something THIS GREAT, something THIS HEINOUSLY FABULOUS (or is it fabulously heinous, there’s another fucking dilemma for the pot), I’m at a loss for words.

What’ll it be?

In light of this morning’s news that Christina Aguilera was arrested for being too drunk to function, singer Pink took to her Twitter account and typed out the following message: “Out of Myself, Britney, and Christina- didn’t everyone think I was gonna be the troublemaker? LOOK MA!!! No CUFFS!!!”

Pink has a decent point: People have been giving her shit since day one. Granted, “troubled and erratic” has always been the image she’s gone for, but she’s definitely not sitting in a jail cell this morning and I doubt she’s going to get that kid she’s pregnant with taken away. Hmm.

On the other hand, Pink was slightly older than Christina and Britney by the time she’d made it big and already had a full past of rabble-rousing before she even landed on our radar. Maybe her story wouldn’t be much different if she’d been thrust into the spotlight as early as Brit and X-Tina were.

I guess one thing we can take from this is that things are rarely as they seem in Hollywood.

Anyway, let’s discuss this. Why do you think it is someone like Pink, whose public image is similar to that of a rabid animal, has been able to stay out of jail while our former pop princesses keep finding themselves in such unfortunate circumstances?

For the past few weeks, I’ve noticed an alarming new trend in Hollywood – hats.  I know some of you may say that it’s wintertime, and people need to keep their head parts warm, and I agree.  However, I would tack on the end of that agreement that ageless adage of “if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.”  And I’m taking a stand for the outlawing of stupid ass hats that make you look like you scalped an animal.

Peruse the gallery to check out photos of spiritual gangsta Goldie Hawn morphing into a troll doll, Vanessa Hudgens proudly displaying whatever her latest kill was, Pink mocking the plight of the pandas, and Christina Aguilera in a pair of nearly acceptable but misguided earmuffs.

Let’s take a stand, you guys.  Unless you think it’s cute.  Then whatever, you’re part of the problem.

So, before I even get into it, I have a story for you. My friend and I were headed to this drinking establishment in my hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania (yes, home of The Office) and we were prepared to hit it hard with some friends that evening because we were celebrating an unceremonious breakup that was long, long overdue.

We got there early, took our place at the bar and asked for martinis. Almost immediately, we were approached by this odd-looking, burly man in his late thirties with weird, bleached, spiked hair a la Dexter Holland and a big nose, and a twisted scar on his cheek.  He stood there patiently, as if waiting for his turn, and as the bartender poured our drinks, the man practically screamed (in our faces), ‘Fifteen shots of Jameson … she don’t even know her name again. She’s got a boyfriend … and he’s always … cryin’ …’

The guy – apparently wasted – followed us around all evening (even after the rest of our friends arrived), chanting his ode to Jameson.  There was a lot more to his poem, but I can’t remember it and it’s way too early to text my friend to ask her about the other parts.

So, anyway, yeah. Pink wants to name her kid ‘Jameson,’ and I’m promptly and properly brought back to that night when my friend and I were practically (OK, literally) cornered by this odd, overbearing drunk man who thought that he was a poet laureate.

Good times, Pink.
