A few months after telling PEOPLE that marriage is “easy breezy” so far, Reed was given a thoughtful treat from hubby Paul McDonald just before the pair celebrate their first Valentine’s Day as husband and wife.

The holiday “came a little early,” Reed, 23, wrote on WhoSay Monday, in a post that included a photo of a chocolate heart-shaped cake topped with two pink frosting flowers.

So there’s that, you know. It’s no big, important recording deal or anything, but it’s a CAKE and *isn’t that just as good.

But really, I just wanted an excuse to talk about how good Nikki Reed looks coming out of the gym. She looks pretty and natural and … completely worn out. Which is good. Makes me feel like she’s real person who actually gets tired from working out (much like I do) and not one of those crazy, shiny people who get off on their physical fatigue (much like I do not). - Stars who hate each other: Rob Lowe and Amy Poehler, Evan Rachel Wood and Kate Winslet.

- Sean Penn once hit on Naomi Watts. When baby-daddy Liev Schreiber found out, he punched Sean in the face. Did I mention that Liev Schreiber is my favorite? Because he is.

- Is there a costar Robert Pattinson hasn’t slept with? Ew.

- In the late 80s, Warren Beatty was having sex with Annette Bening, Madonna, and Nicole Kidman, practically simultaneously. (Supposedly.)

- I used to assume Topanga could not really be that nice, but it turns out she is: she’s been tutoring kids for the last 10 years. That’s right, ever since Boy Meets World ended! Aww.

- Fellow good samaritan Rebecca Romijn pulled out all the stops when she helped a frantic woman catch up with her missing purse (which had been left on a bus). This Blind Item reads like an action movie, honestly. Rebecca Romijn! You’re totally a superhero!

- Sick of being “shunned,” Julia Stiles “begged for [a fellow actress's] forgiveness.” (The writer stops there, but I think we can safely guess who the other actress is. Yeesh.)

- X-Files fans, rejoice? David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson might actually be dating on the sly.

And there are plenty other scandals to read up on, kids! As Emily revealed earlier today, Christina Aguilera sleeps with a baby monitor so she doesn’t die of alcohol poisoning in the night, Sean “Puffy” Combs bought JLo a mansion, and Julia Roberts is catty. Also, the thing about how Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick won’t touch each other? That’s my favorite one.

It had been almost a year since we began dating, but nobody knew about us. Sometimes I would bring it up casually, but he always found a way to twist and turn his words until they morphed into a theory that seemed to make sense. He was good with his words, and I was good at coming up with reasons to believe them. Only a few friends at school were allowed to know about us, and they were mostly hand selected by him.

At the time it made sense, because he was convincing when he spoke about privacy being a persons number one priority. Sometimes I would tell him half jokingly that I wanted to scream it out to the world on a megaphone, because that’s what being in love made me feel like doing. He never smiled at that. Although my mom sensed there was something unusually dark about him, I always argued that it was self-induced. Besides, I couldn’t let myself believe that I was too good for him. He was endlessly charming, and intelligent, and philosophical beyond his years. At least that’s how he would secretly want to be described.

I knew I loved him, and that’s all that mattered. Sure I wasn’t the prettiest girl in the world, but he always said he liked me for that very reason, so I felt content with that. Most of the time that is. One time, I gathered the courage to sing a song in front of him in the lunch room (I had always loved singing), and he laughed and said “…that’s what’s so great about you; even though you aren’t a good singer, you’re not afraid to try.” That’s a compliment right?

Hm. Interesting, huh? Funny thing is, some good friends of ours (and some other theorists, too) think that Nikki’s story isn’t entirely fiction. In fact, a lot of people think that it’s actually about a former romance between her and Robert Pattinson (and not Ashley Greene and Robert Pattinson), and instead of the two being “at school,” the two were actually “on the set.” And wouldn’t that be something. I mean, if you really examine the story (if you even care about these Twilight people, which I’d be a liar if I said I didn’t, just a little bit), it all seems to fit. But would Nikki publicize something so apparently kept-under-wraps so long after the fact? And do you think that Robert Pattinson might actually be that big a douchebag? Does this unravel the whole Twilight mystique for you?

Here’s a little background information on both of them (not that it’ll really factor in to “who’d you rather,” but whatever):

- Nikki Reed‘s the one who married a creepy American Idol alum after dating for, like, three weeks or something
- Ashley Greene‘s the one who had the nude photo scandal* a few years ago that no one cared about
- Nikki Reed recently said that “not everyone on the set of the movies are friends,” so that means everyone probably hates her
- Ashley Greene thinks she’s comparable in looks and acting ability to Angelina Jolie

If you’ll recall, darling (creepy?) Paul McDonald from American Idol and Nikki Reed from them Twilight movies are very, very in love. So in love that they got engaged after two months of dating (and meeting), and now they’re getting married just four months after that! It makes the heart sing, doesn’t it?

Here are all the details that we know so far:

-Paul is going to be jamming with his band at the reception.

-Stefano from Paul’s season of American Idol will also be performing.

-Alexa Vega, the kickass girl from Spy Kids, will be Nikki’s maid of honor.

Are you guys excited for them or what?!

Have you heard of give-a-shit.org? No? Then you’re in the majority, if you’re talking just between you and I, because I haven’t either. Funny, huh? Anyway, it’s more or less an organization (a website) that allows you to show and share what you give a shit about, be it saving the planet, feeding the hungry, raising barns in the Pacific Northwest for those who need them or whatever. Nikki Reed? Definitely gives a shit.

Won’t be long now, guys! The next big movie to hit theaters will be Breaking Dawn Part 1, and then we can talk about that for six weeks before and after like we have with Harry Potter. How are you guys feeling about that crazy little couple that could, Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald? They started dating in April, kept creeping through May, and got engaged in June. What a whirlwind romance, right?  What else could these wacky lovers get into this month?

One word: tattoos.

Yes, in the vein of many a young lover, Nikki and Paul got matching tattoos to commemorate their undying love for each other. Specifically, they got each other’s names tattooed on their right ring fingers.  Charming, right?

I don’t know, a lot of people don’t believe in these two, but I feel like I’ve got to.  I’ve got to stand up for this love, you guys, and I’m going to keep on standing for it until one of them gently passes away in the other’s arms, years and years from now, or Nikki get screwed for skipping the prenup. Whichever comes first.

Have you guys heard the news yet? That Twilight‘s Nikki Reed and American Idol‘s Paul McDonald are ENGAGED? I mean, does this strike any of you as somewhat odd, considering they’ve been dating, what, like three weeks?

Molls said it not long ago, that Paul McDonald is kind of a creeper, and at first, I was skeptical. I thought, hell, maybe all we have here is an excitable young man who really, really digs the idea of going from being a nobody to, well, a more famous girl’s boyfriend overnight, and he’s all about hanging onto what he’s found. Maybe he ACTUALLY CARES about her. Maybe he spent way too many late nights rubbing one out to Nikki’s Twilight character and that’s why he’s got such a malnourished pallor about his face, which THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH.  Just MAYBE he felt about Nikki the way that I did about Isaac Hanson when I was twelve years old, and cried every night over the vast expanse that separated us.  Sometimes love knows no sanity, you guys.

However, the couple confirmed last night that Paul did, indeed, pop the question and Nikki HAD NO OTHER CHOICE YOU HEAR ME accepted.

And if that isn’t creepy enough for you, Nikki also claims that Paul is on a Nikki Reed-songwriting campaign and has plans to release a Nikki Reed EP. ‘Cause nothing says “forever love” quite like rapt, fascinated obsession, you know?

Apparently Nikki Reed doesn’t care for my advice, because she was seen out last night holding hands with American Idol‘s #1 Creeper, Paul McDonald.

Of course I don’t know whether or not Paul is actually a skeezy dude, but he gives me super weird vibes and I think he might be a little bit of a user. I’m not happy that Scotty took home the American Idol grand prize, but I’m just glad it wasn’t Paul. I don’t think I’d be comfortable having this dude sneak on to my radar for the next several years. At least I’m pretty sure that once Nikki comes to her senses, he’ll fade into obscurity like the rest of the Idols.

I could have told you this was going to happen! I knew just by watching him sing songs on my TV in a creepy James Taylor voice that something was NOT RIGHT about American Idol castoff Paul McDonald. You can just tell by looking at him that he gets all crazy and weird after one drink of brown liquor and that he’s kind of a shiesty dude.

I knew when I heard (through an announcement he made) that he was dating actress Nikki Reed that something was going to start going around about him using her soon. Then BAM! A story shows up about it in the Enquirer.

Ready?:

“Paul is pressuring Nikki to introduce him to her agents, studio executives and even her ‘Twilight’ co-stars,” said a source, according to the report.

“His own friends are predicting he’ll leave Nikki as soon as he gets his big post ‘Idol’ break, the Enquirer reported.

To be fair, I don’t think I’m Columbo for figuring this out. Everyone knows that an ex-American Idol star fresh off the show is not who you want to be dating if you’re a famous actress with bomb-ass connections.

Nikki, protect your name and Twilight money from this vampire, you know what I mean, girl?

I guess this story is aimed specifically for y’all teenyboppers. That’s the only demographic that strongly cares about both American Idol and Twilight, right?  Well, you guys are welcome.

So Paul McDonald?  Impossibly adorable.  He got eliminated this week, which was a tragic moment in my household, but it’s ok, because he’s got other things to do, like work on a new album and bang Nikki Reed, the lady who plays beautiful, bitchy Rosalie in the Twilight movies.  Here’s Paul’s characteristically charming statement about it:

“Yeah, well me and Nikki Reed are dating. It’s officially true. She’s super cool, man, she’s super smart, really cool girl. I’m happy about it. We’ve been hanging out, here and there, you know we’re both pretty busy, but it’s been fun so far.”

And here’s another statement where Paul describes how happy Nikki is that he got eliminated:

“She is actually pumped,” he said. “She said, ‘Dude, you finally get to do your thing and be yourself and be the artist you are.’ She is happy about the whole situation. She has been nothing but cool to me.”

I’m really excited about this couple, can you tell?  It hits on two things that I’m ashamed to be so in love with, which is a really special feeling.  And you guys, I’ve got to confess – I’ve been falling hard for Paul McDonald for the past couple days.  I mean, he’s no Casey Abrams, but he’s wonderful.  I just got his band’s album (The Grand Magnolias, check it out if you’re hipster enough), and it’s crazy good.  If you don’t pull any other glee out of this story, at least check out The Grand Magnolias and let them touch your heart, ok?
