Nicole Kidman‘s Grace Kelly biopic has been pushed back, then held off indefinitely, and now it’s got another setback — the Palace of Monaco is completely against it. From The Daily Mail:
Nicole Kidman was set to shine playing Grace Kelly in the yet-to-be-released biopic Grace Of Monaco, but in yet another setback for the movie the Palace of Monaco has slammed it as a ‘farce’.
[...] ‘The Prince’s Palace would like to reiterate that this feature film cannot under any circumstances be classified as a biopic,’ it read.
The trailer appears to be a farce and confirms the totally fictional nature of this film. It reinforces the certainty, left after reading the script, that this production, a page of the Principality’s history, is based on erroneous and dubious historical references.’
The statement goes on to accuse the film’s directors and producers of ‘refusing’ to take into consideration: ‘observations made by the Palace because these called into question the entire script and the characters of the film’.
‘The Princely Family does not in any way wish to be associated with this film, which reflects no reality and regrets that Its history has been misappropriated for purely commercial purposes,’ it concludes.
“The Princely Family” makes me chuckle.
Hey Nicole, I guess this means you’ll never be royyyyaaaals.
Honestly though, I feel kind of bad for her. This film was supposed to be her big Oscar comeback and it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen, plus everyone keeps saying she’s too old to play the part. What do you think?

Hope you weren’t getting your hopes up for Nicole Kidman‘s Grace Kelly biopic, Grace of Monaco. While it was originally due for release in November 2013 and was then moved to March 2014, it’s now been cancelled indefinitely due to a “disagreement” between director Olivier Dahan and Harvey Weinstein.
From The Hollywood Reporter:
The movie has yet to be delivered to Harvey Weinstein’s company, making it difficult to begin generating final marketing materials, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.
French director Olivier Dahan presented a difference version of events, and publicly lashed out at Weinstein for wanting to change the film. “It’s right to struggle, but when you confront an American distributor like Weinstein, not to name names, there is not much you can do,” Olivier told a French newspaper at the time. “There are two versions of the film for now: mine and his … which I find catastrophic.”
Insiders say Weinstein gave Dahan notes, but that Weinstein has no creative control over the project and cannot make cuts to the film.
Well, who knows what really happened here, but the bottom line is that at this point, this movie is never going to make it to any screen, be it at the movie theatre or on DVD. Not that Weinstein will care – he’s too busy making his anti-NRA movie, I suppose.
I’m not sure why, exactly, this is news, but it’s still the holidays and things are a bit slow, so today we’ve got a story about Tom Cruise‘s daughter, Bella, celebrating her 21st birthday at Disney World with brother Connor. Well, the “story” is that she shaved her head and is wearing her new buzz cut in style, apparently.
There she is, throwing her hands up with carefree abandon, as you do when you’re 21 and your parents are rich so you have not a care in the world. Also, when you’re just 21 in general. Here’s People’s “coverage”:
In this Instagram post by her brother, Connor Cruise, Bella sports a fresh red buzz cut as she holds her hands high on the Expedition Everest roller coaster at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.
Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman‘s daughter, who enjoys trying new things with her tresses, decided to hit the theme park with her brother and dad for fun in the sun in celebration of her 21st birthday.
“Safe to say Disney World was a blast,” Connor, 18, says in the caption.
Well, that’s that, I suppose! I need to do some Googling and read up on Bella, actually – I think both the kids sorta went to live with Nicole when she divorced Tom, right? Do they see much of either of their parents anymore? I feel like Nicole is so caught up in the small biological kids she’s got now that Connor and Bella aren’t really around, but that’s pure conjecture.
