More photos of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden’s wedding have been released today and from the looks of things, it was a lovely affair. Check out the gallery to see the special message Nicole had woven into the lace on her dress, a better look at the back of her gown, and of course, the elephant.

So the first crappy, low-quality photo of Nicole Richie in her wedding dress with her new husband has hit the ‘nets, and of course, People magazine was the first to run it. (Yay for you, People, but come on.  I know you’re hoarding the good stuff over there, so give.  it.  up.)

I love the dress – which was apparently inspired by Grace Kelly’s wedding gown of yesteryear. It was positively breathtaking, and from what I can see of Nicole’s hair and makeup, she looks amazingly beautiful.

After four years and two children together, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden (not, ha, John Madden, like my early-morning pre-coffee brain told me, though it probably would be a hell of a lot more interesting) have made it official.  The wedding and reception both were said to be a Hollywood affair for the books. Reverend Run DMC officiated the wedding, the legendary (ahem) Lionel Richie walked his daughter down the aisle, and guests arrived in droves – Samantha Ronson, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom, just to name a few. Oh, I forgot the elephant. There was an elephant there, too.  And no, I’m not repeating myself – I know, I already said Khloe Kardashian, but you misunderstand me – I’m talking about a real elephant this time, not the proverbial one sitting in the corner.  Or even the real one that talks about smearing mayonnaise all over its vagina.

As heavily speculated upon over the past few days, Paris Hilton was not in attendance, but not for the reason that you might think, like Nicole just not wanting her ex-BFF there – the elephant hadn’t gotten its skank shots this year, and Nicole, Joel, and the elephant’s handlers didn’t want an outbreak of Dengue fever or radioactive anal herpes something during their nuptials.  Shit like that can really be a downer.

As for wedding pics, don’t expect to see the photos for at least another few days, though … Sources claim that Nicole is being super picky about price negotiation and is looking to milk the event for all it was worth – in order to, you know, repay her dad for the wedding, ’cause I’m sure her Harlow clothing line isn’t exactly going to foot whatever this huge bill is going to be.  Gotta do something with all that Say You, Say Me and All Night Long money, don’t you?

Guess what, bitches? Three years and two kids later, Joel Madden and Nicole Richie are finally ready to make it official. Last night at a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman (due to air on Friday), Dave asked his guest Nicole if she and he man had gotten engaged yet. Although we’re pretty used to hearing the whole “we don’t feel the need to get married” bit out those those two, Nicole threw a curve ball and said, “We actually recently are engaged, yes.” I know that these two caught a lot of flack from people over the years because of their unconventional relationship, but I think that it’s beautiful that they’ve managed to end up where they’d hoped to be after two kids. Most would say that doing things that way is a sure to ruin things, but since marriage is all about teamwork and endurance, I’m glad that these two took their time to make 100% sure that they were the right fit.

The day after Christmas, a raven-haired Nicole Richie did some shopping with baby-daddy Joel Madden. It feels like these two will NEVER break up, and it’s getting to be a little frustrating. I know, I know. It has to happen sometime. I just need to be patient. Sometimes I wonder why they haven’t up and gotten hitched yet. Is there a combined 150-pound weight minimum for married couples in this country that I don’t know about? I mean, we do tend to be haphazard with our legislation in that area.

Nicole Richie updated her personal blog today with a photo of her boyfriend Joel Madden and their babies Sparrow and Harlow. This is noteworthy because we really haven’t seen much of Sparrow since his birth and Harlow always looks like the kind of baby you want to rub in BBQ sauce and eat. What’s even more noteworthy: Nicole Richie may be a fellow Photobooth Whore! Photobooth pictures are like, my favorite thing in the world. It’s the most narcissistic fun I ever have.

Any other Photobooth addicts in the house? Does anyone use DailyBooth? For some reason I never use it any more, but that’s my jam right there.

Nicole Richie is on this week’s cover of People and it’s a damn good thing that he’s so cute, because with a name like Sparrow, he needs to have good looks on his side.  If you’re wondering how they came up with the name — I was convinced that it was sourced from a train of thought that went something like Twitter>Tweet>bird>Sparrow — basically, Joel Madden wanted his son to have a name that would torture him.

“We have different tastes in names,” Nicole says. “Sparrow was one we both liked. I liked the way it sounded with Harlow, and there’s the Captain Jack Sparrow connection.”

Joel goes on, “It reminded me of the Johnny Cash song ‘A Boy Named Sue.’ My worry raising a son in Hollywood is what will he have to struggle for? I wanted to give him a name that he’s going to have to stand up for. I love it; I think it’s a beautiful name.”

Also, despite the rumors, Nicole and Joel are not married.  Nicole maintains that if her children wanted them to get hitched, they would as long as the kids drew up the prenup.  Okay, she didn’t say that part about the prenup, but I imagine that Harlow would be a fierce negotiator.

Upon hearing that his baby mama Nicole Richie was in a car crash yesterday, Joel Madden rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to be by her side. The two just had their second baby together, and while there’s no sign that the two will ever get hitched, they are one of the only Hollywood couples that seem free from rumors of infidelity and secretly hating each other.

Congrats to Nicole Richie and her uterus, which is currently growing a small penis. (It has a person attached to it, too, but isn’t that all men really are anyway? Penises with bodies attached? Or is that the kind of thinking that results in me being eternally single?)

“Joel bought water-based paint for the nursery and — surprise, surprise — it’s blue,” says a pal of the couple, who adds that Nicole refers to the baby as “he.” “Plus, she recently ordered some plush animals and infant toys from FAO Schwarz, and everything just happens to be blue.”

Ya know, my mom had a thing about baby colors. She didn’t want me to feel like I had to associate my gender with any limitations, color being one of them. So she tried to use neutrals or mixes of color in my room. In fact, the mobile above my cradle was made of tin foil dolls. There was Mrs. Tin Foil and Mr. Tin Foil and baby Tin Foil. Although they didn’t really have gender identifiers, so I suppose they could just as well have been Mr. and Mr. Tin Foil and the Tin Foil baby they had through a surrogate. Thank you, Mom, for the open-mindedness you instilled in me as a child. It basically worked, except now I have this overpowering need to marry a man made of tin foil.

Let me confess right up front that I am a brunette who dyes her hair blonde. Personally, I think that there is something about hot brunettes that makes them so much hotter than hot blondes. But I just can’t pull that whole “sultry” thing off, so I dye my hair.

Lately, there have been far too many attractive dark- haired celebrities going crazy with the peroxide bottle. The latest casualty? Good Charlotte singer and Nicole Ritchie Baby Bump-maker Joel Madden.

This look gets a big thumbs down from me. I think it looks orange and fake, and really washes out his face. But what do you think?

It’s bad enough that you can’t bring your own bottled water on a flight-unless you’re willing to pay four dollars for the much safer Poland Springs crap that is for sale within the terminal, of course.  But now, apparently you can’t bring your own body art either.

Joel Madden was forced to cover up his tattoos before boarding a British Airways flight this weekend.  He gave in to the man and put on a long sleeve shirt and of course documented the whole thing on Twitter.

Was just told by a british air person I can’t get on the plane till I cover my tatts. Should I fight the power?

Isn’t it comforting to know that airline security is focusing on real threats such as exposed body art?  I know I’ll sleep better tonight knowing that British Airways is vigilant in their concern with the personal safety of all the passengers who could have been harmed by viewing Joel Madden’s tats.
