3Adele and Jennifer Lawrence Just Might Be Best Friends

jennifer lawrence pics

In what is a strange – but not really all that strange, for some odd reason – new story, it seems Adele and Jennifer Lawrence struck up a friendship at the Oscars in February and now they spend all their spare time gabbing on the phone about boys and nail polish. I’m kidding about the boys and nail polish part, but Adele is said to be helping JLaw find a place to live while she’s over in London in a few months to film the next X-Men movie.

From The Sun:

A source said: “Adele’s been hanging around with JENNIFER LAWRENCE since the Oscars.

“Jennifer’s set to come to London later this year to film an X Men movie and Adele’s recommending she move to Notting Hill, where she has a house.”

Well, okay. I think this is one case where the press is making something out of nothing. How often do you think Jennifer Lawrence and Adele have actually “hung around” together since the Oscars? My bet is less than one. Chances are, they probably ran into each other in the bathroom during a commercial break and Jennifer said, “Hey Adele, I love your kewl London accent!” and Adele was like, “OMG I’m a big fan of The Hunger Games, you should come to London!” and then Jennifer replied, “I totally am, actually – I’m filming the new X-Men movie there!” and then Adele suggested that she get a place in Notting Hill because it’s super posh. That’s exactly how it went down, I’m sure of it.

17Jennifer Lawrence Was Bullied By Assholes Growing Up, But She Gets the Last Laugh

Jennifer Lawrence remains one of the most incredibly lovely, down-to-earth women in the industry in a new interview with The Sun, wherein she admits that she was picked on a lot in school (though she got the bullies back) and offers advice to anyone who might be going through something similar now.

Jen says: “I changed schools a lot when I was in elementary school because some girls were mean.

“They were less mean in middle school, because I was doing all right, although this one girl gave me invitations to hand out to her birthday party that I wasn’t invited to.

“But that was fine, I just hocked a loogie on them and threw them in the trash can.”

She adds: “Don’t worry about the bitches — that could be a good motto, because you come across people like that throughout your life.”

It’s nice to see someone who’s strong, smart, hilarious and refuses to play the victim. There’s not much else to say here – she’s just great, don’t you think?

6New ‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Posters Are Here!

I loved The Hunger Games book trilogy, and while I thought the movie was only good rather than great (as most big screen adaptations of books tend to be, unfortunately), I’m pretty pumped for the second installment, Catching Fire, that’s due to hit theatres in November. Plus, the visual effects, costumes and make-up are fantastic, which makes the artwork/promotional posters a lot of fun to look at. Check out the new shot of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen above, and then scroll through some others below.

9Jennifer Lawrence Gets Hit On By Jack Nicholson, Is Pretty Shocked About It

Jennifer Lawrence is pretty much the best in all ways, but especially when you put her in a public setting and force her to talk about things. Mostly what comes out is talk about her love of reality TV, her desire for food or something equally awkward but definitely charming.

After winning her Oscar on Sunday night for Silver Linings Playbook, Jennifer sat down for a quick interview to be aired on Good Morning America and was completely taken aback when Jack Nicholson interrupted her to congratulate her on the statue. What results is the cutest, most hilarious thing to come out of this year’s Oscars.

5Jennifer Lawrence Is The New Face of Miss Dior

Oh, Jennifer Lawrence – is there anything she can’t do? From ripping her dress and falling up the stairs at awards ceremonies to her unabashed love of food and disregard for fame to… the other things she does (?), there’s not much about her that’s not adorable and really likeable. But Jennifer’s not just a good actress, she’s also a pretty face – fancy that! She’s the new face off Miss Dior, the ready-to-wear range of the high fashion brand. She replaced Mila Kunis in the spot.

There’s not much else to say about this one, other than that these are really pretty pictures and I like fashion photography a lot. In a sense, Jennifer Lawrence doesn’t seem like the standard model to be endorsing brands like this, but that’s why it kind of works really well. I like it. See some other shots from her new campaign below.

1Jessica Chastain Totally Doesn’t Hate Jennifer Lawrence

Jessica Chastain is tired of asshole reporters claiming she hates people she doesn’t – namely Jennifer Lawrence. Showbiz Spy claimed sometime late last year that Chastain became angry with Lawrence after the latter portrayed her during her hosting gig on SNL. First of all, who gets mad over an SNL sketch? Oh, that’s right – nobody. Second of all, this story is just more bullshit made up by papers to pit women against each other and make us all seem like catty bitches incapable of having a) a sense of humour b) a modicum of maturity c) respect for our fellow ladies getting theirs.

In any case, Jessica finally had enough and took to her Facebook page to put this f-ckery to rest:

I find it very sad that media makes up bogus stories about women fighting in this industry. Filming The Help was the most amazing experience and yet, that is the film Im most asked about in regards to “fighting on set”. Why do we support the myth that women are competitive and cannot get along?

I think all of the actresses recognized this year have given incredible performances. But more important, they’ve all shown themselves to be filled with generosity and kindness. I’ve done two photo shoots with Jennifer Lawrence over the years and have found her to be utterly charming and a great talent. I’ve told her how beautiful her film work is.

Please don’t allow the media to perpetuate the myth that women arent supportive of each other. Everytime an actress is celebrated for her great work, I cheer. For the more brilliant their performance, the more the audience demands stories about women. With support and encouragement, we help to inspire this industry to create opportunities for women. And as we all know: a great year for women in film, is just a great year for film xxjes

It’s pretty dick that Jessica Chastain even had to speak about this, that enough of a big deal was made out of it to warrant a response. You’d never hear, say, Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe going on like this – and that’s because the media doesn’t make up bullshit like that about men.

In any case, both women are extremely talented, seem pretty down-to-earth and newsflash: there’s room for more than one talented, cool lady in the business. In fact, the more the merrier! More talented chill ladies in showbiz, please!
