Jason Segel is pretty universally known to be pretty great, so it should be no surprise that he’s now conquering the world of children’s book writing with Nightmares!, a story about a group of small town kids who band together to overcome their fear of the monsters. Apparently this will be a series put together with co-author Kirsten Miller.

“I couldn’t be more excited that Nightmares! has found a home at Random House,” Segel said in a statement.

“Ultimately, it’s a story about learning that we can accomplish anything, as long as we are brave enough to try. These are the types of stories that always inspired me.”

Michelle Williams and Jason Segel broke up. They kept their relationship quiet and I think this break-up came as a shock to many, in the, “Whoa, they were together?” sense. Unless you read Evil Beet, that is. They’ve been together since March of 2012 and were seen together as recently as early January.

No but seriously, they seemed like a cute and happy couple and I hope they both find joy soon again.

Michelle Williams is adorable, so it only stands to reason that her daughter Matilda – who she had with the late Heath Ledger – is also adorable. Michelle has always spent a lot of time with Matilda and taken her to movie sets wherever possible, and Oz, The Great and Powerful is no exception. Turns out, she’s pretty excited to see the film now because she knows what’s going to happen and wants to see it all come together on the big screen.

“[Director Sam Raimi] really welcomed her on set and he made a very kid-friendly space. She witnessed so much of it being made so she’s really excited to see it come together.”

An avid fan of the original The Wizard of Oz, the 7-year-old has been known to skip over the scarier scenes — “She runs out of the room when … the baboons start to fly,” says Williams — but promises to be brave for the newest flick.

“She said, ‘Mommy, don’t worry, I won’t be scared because I know how everything happens,” says the actress.

I always wonder what kids of celebrity parents must think about their careers. Most stars say that their kids don’t really “get it” and that to them, they’re just Mom or Dad, not such and such the Hollywood actress or whatever. I love this kid. I love that Jason Segel loves this kid. I love everything about this little makeshift family and I don’t know why but I don’t think it matters.

Probably my favorite celebrity couple in the history of celebrities coupling is Michelle Williams and Jason Segel. I’ve always adored them so, so much separately, and I never even imagined that these two magical souls could become one. But they have, and they still are. And that’s what this story is about.

Oh wow. We all wanted something like this to happen, but now that it has, and we’re talking maybe, what, selling the property that was joint-purchased with Heath Ledger? And then I feel all sorts of reluctant about this whole thing. Sure, it’s not healthy for Michelle to not move on—especially after four years, but wow. Everything seems real final now that she’s not living in the Heath Ledger house anymore. I don’t know. I suppose I shouldn’t complain: she’s moving on with someone like Jason Segel, and that’s pretty fabulous. It’s amazing how the time flies, right?

Also, yes, I know that they’re not technically—or even theoretically, at this point—a family right now, but guys. It’s on its way. Jason is hanging out with Matilda on the regular (alone, too; these photos were taken post-breakfast date in New York City, presumably while Michelle worked on a project), and Michelle is letting this happen. Michelle, who is notoriously private and protective over her personal life and loved ones. This is a big step forward, guys, and you can quote me on this: I’ll bet Michelle and Jason will be engaged within the year. It’s just going to happen, and that’s all there is to it.

A couple of months ago, back in April, we heard quite a bit about the budding relationship between Michelle Williams and Jason Segel. There was the time that Jason played with Michelle’s daughter, Matilda, and the time that Jason put stickers of Michelle on his phone, and the time that Jason said that the two of them “would just very much like to be happy.” We heard one story right at the beginning of May about how Michelle’s daughter loves Jason, but ever since then, I haven’t heard anything. I sort of forgot that they were dating, as sad as that makes me to admit.

After Us Weekly broke the news of their romance in March, the unlikely pair kept a low-profile while Segel promoted The Five-Year Engagement in Europe and Williams prepped for her Take This Waltz press tour. But on June 19, witnesses saw the couple looking “very lovey-dovey” at Broadway’s One Man, Two Guvnors, The New York Post‘s Page Six reports. Williams, 31, looked “so pretty” in white, while Segel, 32, wore “a suit.”

The couple stepped out to support James Corden, 33, Segel’s costar in 2010′s Gulliver’s Travels. “Jason loved the play,” a Segel source tells Us. “It was definitely his sense of humor.”

According to the source, Williams and Segel “are totally in love. Jason is obsessed with Michelle.” What’s more, he’s become somewhat of a father figure to Williams’ daughter Matilda, 6 (with her late ex, HeathLedger). “He’s been doing all sorts of ‘dad stuff’ with her, like drawing and playing music.”

Friends for years via mutual pal Busy Philipps, 32, Segel has only spoken publicly about Williams once, during an April interview with Extra. “I think we would just very much like to be happy,” he said. “That’s all I’m going to say about it.”

Man, this is just the thing I needed to hear after being subjected to that awful Octomom video I showed you earlier. True love does exist, you guys. Except I wish that source hadn’t used the word “obsessed” when describing Jason’s feelings for Michelle. That gives me a funny feeling that I’d rather not have when it comes to one of my new favorite Hollywood couples, you know?

There have been a handful of entertainment experiences I’ve had in my life that have made me cry out of sheer joy. The first one I can remember happened when I was 15 and my dad took me to see a touring production of Cats: there was an issue with the seating, so a big group of people had to stand off to the side during the opening number before we were seated, and I was just sobbing, I was so happy to be there. The second one happened last year when The Lion King was re-released in theaters. It was during “Circle of Life,” and all the animals just looked so happy, and I could remember when my mom brought home the VHS and my sister and I watched it over and over and over, and I just burst into tears. Then, inexplicably, I was so overjoyed that I cried once again when I saw The Muppets.

It was weird, because watching The Muppet Christmas Carol every Christmas and watching Muppet Babies at my grandma’s house sometimes are the only memories I have of these lovable guys. It wasn’t like they were all that close to my heart or anything, but it was just such an incredibly happy, fun movie that I got overwhelmed with emotion. And that might be lame, but that’s just me, you guys.

I had the same reaction when I rented the movie a couple of months ago, and yes, I cried again when I saw this blooper reel. Come on, look at Jason Segel‘s face! And Amy Adams is so adorable! And Fozzie Bear and Gonzo and oh god, you guys, it’s happening again.

How adorable is this? I still can’t get over how much I love this couple.

When I heard that it was the “sequel” to Knocked Up, I was like, “Ugh, that movie sucked shit through a straw, and they’re touting this as its ‘sequel’ like that’s supposed to turn people the f-ck on?” but then I stepped away and—objectively!—watched the trailer, and guys, it doesn’t look awful. It’s got Paul Rudd (who I love) and Jason Segel (who I also love, when he’s not looking like this), and the idea is cute and fun and I laughed out loud when I saw Paul Rudd examining his anus, because come on. Who hasn’t done that at some point in their lives? Please.

Jason Segel was “forced” to lose weight for his new movie.

The actor stars alongside Emily Blunt in his latest film The Five-Year Engagement but was told by bosses he should shift at least 35lbs as they wanted the film to be as realistic as possible.

He told talk show host David Letterman: “I was forced to lose weight for this movie. It was by the studio president! I was told it had to be conceivable that Emily Blunt would ever choose me to be her husband, which I think is fair enough! I had to lose a good 35lbs. I didn’t enjoy it but they sent a trainer to set and I had to work out twice a day and he would also watch me eat all day.”

However, the How I Met Your Mother star – who is currently dating actress Michelle Williams – says he didn’t follow the strict rules he was put under and did his best to eat as much food as possible.

He said: “What they didn’t anticipate is that I’m very clever and I play a chef in the movie, so there were a lot of scenes in which I had to eat. So I paid my co-stars phenomenal amounts of money to mess up their lines during the scenes and I’d get to keep eating!”

Jason Segel is a lovely, talented, hilarious, extremely lovable man, with or without 35 extra pounds. And if the studio wanted him to lose weight for a role, that’s shitty, but it’s understandable. Sometimes that’s just part of the job. But the idea that it wouldn’t be “realistic” or “conceivable” for Emily Blunt to be in a relationship with Jason Segel without weight loss is just sad, not to mention untrue. How many times have you seen cute, thin girls with dudes with a little extra weight, or even pretty thick girls with super skinny guys, or any other combination you could think of? A lot, right? Because sometimes people are actually attracted to another person’s character as opposed to just their hot bods. I know, it’s a novel concept, but it happens more than you think.

But really, if a girl would pass up a guy like Jason Segel over 35 pounds, then obviously she never deserved him in the first place.

HIMYM is fabulous, you’re one of Hollywood’s go-to guys for roles to be filled absent pretension, and you’re publicly making out with Michelle Williams, who is fabulous for another entire bucketful of different reasons. But your hairstyle looks like it was borrowed from that creep, Jesse James—and OILED—your goatee looks like post-Cesarean section pubes, your pants are sagged, ffs, and there’s greasy fingerprints on your crappy sunglasses.

Many, many things you should be proud of, but this look, boyfriend is not one of them. BARF.
