Jessica Simpson lost her dog Daisy in a pretty tragic accident last summer and this summer she’s apparently healed enough to crack jokes about it on Entourage. Or maybe they wrote her the part and she needed the work so badly that her morals flew out the window as quickly as her anal virginity.

In the clip above, Ari shows up to former client Jessica’s house to try and win her back with a new pup. Her response is about what you’d expect from a client fed up with her shitty agent, and also what you’d expect from someone with the vocabulary of a five year old. Either way, this moment is funny enough to make me want to tune in on August 1st to see the whole episode.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is really one of the only consistently funny shows around these days, if you ask me. I got so pumped for the new season, which is currently filming in New York City, after seeing these photos online this morning. The majority of the episodes this season are being shot in NYC this year, and while I love Larry at home in LA, I’m too happy about another round of episodes that I can’t complain.

Are you looking forward to a new season of Curb, and uh, while you’re here, any recommendations for other TV comedies?

‘Cause John Goodman is in it, and it’s totally the best he’s looked in, well, ever.

I’ve always been pretty hardcore about Goodman. When I was younger, I was a big Roseanne fan, though my parents didn’t want me watching it; they thought it was improper for a child of a young age, but faithfully, every week, both my mother and father tuned in at 9 PM after I was “put to bed.” What they didn’t know was that I’d always sneak out of bed and make my way to the open staircase we had in the house of my childhood. I’d always sit at the very top step, peering over the railing in an effort to catch a glimpse of Darlene, who was my idol and my favorite at the time.

Whether or not my parents knew that I was watching is unknown. They’re coming over for dinner tonight, so I’ll have to ask them since we’re on topic today.

But anyway, John Goodman is starring in HBO’s Treme a series about my favorite place on earth, New Orleans. It’s based on the events of Hurricane Katrina, the rebuilding effort and the first Mardi Gras after the storm, which, incidentally, I attended.

The show is amazing. It was done by the creator of The Wire, which is a favorite of my brother’s, and he was actually the one who turned me onto the show. He doesn’t watch it himself, but knew that I’d be all about it since it took place in NOLA.

John Goodman’s not the only fabulous star in the show; Steve Zahn, who is amazing, plays the part of a kooky musician and other names of notoriety are Khandi Alexander, Wendell Pierce and one of my favorite local musicians, Kermit Ruffins. It’s a great cast and a great show and clearly, Goodman’s riding the tailcoats of success and happiness because he looks fantastic as of late.

John was recently photographed at last night’s AFI Tribute to Mike Nichols. He’s lost a lot of weight, looks a lot healthier than he has in the past and is clearly stoked about being America’s Favorite Dad once again.

Good on you, John, and I can’t wait to see more of you on the next season of Treme.

Just give the kids an early start. Then again, if all alcoholics were sober members of AA, there wouldn’t really be much of a gossip industry. HBO head Chris Albrecht, who was arrested in Vegas after the Mayweather/de la Hoya fight for trying out some of their moves on his girlfriend, is being all like, “Oh, woops, I’m an alcoholic” about it. Albrecht has decided to take a leave of absence from HBO, stating:

Two years ago, I decided that I could handle drinking again. Clearly, I was wrong. Given that truth, I have committed myself to sobriety. I am deeply sorry for what occurred in Las Vegas this weekend and for any embarrassment it caused my family, the company I love, and myself.

While I am not at liberty to discuss the incident as the district attorney and my lawyer are still determining the facts, it is my hope to do so in the near future.

Leading this company is a great privilege and I pray that I can continue to do so in a manner that brings honor and pride to this remarkable organization and its remarkable people. Thank you for your understanding during these difficult hours, I will not let you down again.
