I’ll let you in on a little secret: though I’ve protested – loudly – in the past about country music and how I had a deep-seated gag reflex for anything about its scene, I’ve had a change of heart. It’s apparently growing on me. I downloaded a Lady Antebellum song a few weeks ago, and just the other night, Sugarland. I know it’s pretty awful to say, when I formerly prided myself on my eclectic music tastes, but when you live somewhere for so long, I guess it begins to wear you down (and I’ll tell you guys – where I live, country is king – these people haven’t even heard of Radiohead or Gomez). And wear you down, it does – So much so that the once-odd-sized peg that refused to jam itself into the hole begins to slip in rather daintily, and without sound, after all of that involuntary whittling and rubbing away.

So the awards show. Good stuff, lots of pretty people, and some decent music. And I know, I know – I have no fucking clue as to why Criss Angel was there flashing gang signs, either.

If you’re like me, you await the Oscars and the Emmys and the Tony Awards every year like a small child waits for Christmas morning. If you’re even more like me, you don’t get so excited about who won what award, or the funny things the host might say, or that reaction shot when that actor didn’t win that award.  Because we don’t care about that.  We just care about the dresses.  And it’s not even about “look at this tragic dress Olivia Wilde chose to wear, but isn’t it fascinating how she’s still insanely attractive?”, it’s just about the dresses.

That’s why I’m loving these pictures coming in from the Venice Film Festival.  The only people I recognize in the pictures are Natalie Portman (fabulous as always) and Jessica Alba (who, at this point, I think is incapable of wearing anything that’s pretty), but there are just so many pretty dresses, and far be it from me to deny you guys pictures of pretty dresses.

For those of you who are more cultured than me, the gallery includes Hiam Abbass wearing what has to be the most beautiful green dress, Ksenia Solo sporting one of my most hated fashion trends, the bubble hem, and Marina Lante della Rovere taking fashion tips from Lady Gaga.  For those of you as cultured as me, doesn’t Jessica Alba just need to get her shit together?

I know there are like horses and shit at the Kentucky Derby, and that’s all great, but I really don’t care about that because EVERYONE LOOKS SO CUTE!  The Kentucky Derby could very well be my favorite red carpet event for fashion, and I don’t care what that says about me as a person, I unapologetically love it.

At the White House Correspondents’ dinner last night, Jessica Simpson revealed her one true wish:  to be Michelle Obama.

“I really do [want to be Michelle Obama].  She’s such an incredible woman, and she’s with such a powerful man. Everything she does she exudes confidence.  I’m really just here to celebrate her.”

Shoot for the moon, Jess.  Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.

On the topic of stars, the Correspondents’ dinner was full of them.  Guests included Justin Bieber (who, in my opinion, is the songbird of this generation), Jessica Alba, the Jonas Brothers, Dennis Quaid, Kim Kardashian, Scarlett Johansson, Gabourey Sidibe, Queen Latifah, and a good few more.  Check out the gallery to see such things as Justin Bieber and Marlon Wayans flashing gang signs and Gabourey Sidibe being in desperate need of a new stylist (and before you guys hate on me, I’m not saying anything about her being a big girl, I’m just saying that there are ways to flatter every body type, and homegirl needs to work that out).

Since the T is back for the moment…I thought I would bring back Fashion Victim of the Week!

Now I am a big Lucy Liu fan, I watched “Cashmere Mafia” a few times to give props to productions that film in NYC but seriously…the clothes she is wearing to promote this show is just a joke.

This outfit is just crazy. The purple dress is cute but they you add this weird Pepto Bismol shrug thing. Honestly it looks like she put on her normal clothes and Bobby Trendy attacked her with pink chiffon. Somebody needs to tell this woman she is NOT Sarah Jessica Parker. It worked for her in the “Sex and the City” days because she was an icon. It seems weird to be taking risks like this before your show is a hit.

“Cashmere Mafia” really is the bastard child of “Lipstick Jungle.” FYI they were the same show until Darren Star and Candace Bushnell got in a big spat. Sadly we are left with this disaster in its wake.

Seriously I am confused. Are these fashionistas or Robots?

I love it when gorgeous models seem to look bad on purpose. This lovely lady Lily Cole is a model in England. Here she is attending the Arena X party in London. She decided, since he has a hot bod to wear some sort of shortie outfit with weird pageboy shoes then wrap a lace curtain around her.

I know she was going for something that mixed sex and lace but it really looks like she forgot her pants and found something in her grandma’s house to wrap around her to go to the party.

Gotta give props to Lily though. She has a hot body and is thin without being totally emaciated and has some natural curves. Even though she is fashion challenged this week we still love her here at the Beet.

Introducing Phoebe Price. If you don’t know her she really is the go to girl for fashion disasters. This girl has been whoring herself out to the camera for years now and the only reason that she gets her picture taken is because she wears things like this. This gold jacket really makes her look like she should be in some Scientology training video. I also love how her bangles match the jacket.

According to Imdb she is an “International Actress and Model.” I really think that should be changed to “Professional Fashion Don’t.” So in the spirit of covering my bases with the fashion disasters of Hollywood in general I present Phoebe Price.

Cameron Diaz loves to be the cute fun-loving tomboy. She showed up to promote her new movie, “Shrek the Third” in this fun little denim number. I actually think this little outfit is cute but she is 34. At one point don’t you start rocking something a little more age appropriate?

Perhaps she is worried to let go of her 20s but I think she seems to be trying a bit hard these days to be cool and young. You can’t dance around in your underwear forever Cameron.
