Researchers from 24/7 Wall St. recently conducted a study to determine the 25 occupations with the highest fatality rates. To do so, they reviewed fatal injury rates for 72 occupations from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries.
They calculated injury rates as the number of fatal occupational injuries per 100,000 full-time equivalent workers. They said a full-time worker is equivalent to 2,000 hours worked by an employee during the calendar year.
After analyzing the results, they determined fishers and related fishing workers, who make about $28,310 annually, had the most dangerous jobs. They counted 41 fatal and 120 nonfatal injuries in 2017, with transportation incidents being the most common fatal accident.

Ariana Grande, who is no stranger to getting inked, just got a giant tattoo of the cute and fluffy Pokémon Eevee on her upper arm.
“I’ve wanted this for so long,” Grande, 25, wrote on Instagram.
When a fan on Twitter asked what games she played on her Nintendo Switch on Sunday, the “Imagine” singer responded, “honestly. yesterday i had a day off and i played pokemon let’s go eevee for fifteen hours. honestly.”
Perhaps Grande identifies with the rabbit-eared character. Eevee, while adorable, is also quite adaptable and is able to evolve into eight different Pokémon.
The body art was done by tattoo artist Kane Navasard who is based in Los Angeles.

On Monday, the Chris Pratt announced his engagement to girlfriend Katherine Schwarzenegger.
“Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go,” Pratt, 39, gushed on Instagram.
The couple reportedly met through Schwarzenegger’s mother, Maria Shriver, and has been dating since last year. Pratt and Schwarzenegger, 29, the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger, made their relationship Instagram official in December when the religious actor posted a photo collage in honor of her birthday.
“Happy Birthday Chief! Your smile lights up the room. I’ve cherished our time together,” Pratt, 39, captioned the post. “Thrilled God put you in my life. Thankful for the laughs, kisses, talks, hikes, love and care.??.”

The Wendy Williams Show is still without its host! The show, which has been in reruns since December 24, will resume new episodes on Monday, January 14, but host Wendy Williams will not return until Monday, January 21, Us Weekly can confirm.
The official show Instagram account posted on January 5 that Williams, 54, would be returning on the 14th. “After fracturing her shoulder, Wendy is on the mend and wants to return pain-free and be 200%, delivering the best show that millions of viewers tune-in to watch,” the post read.
However, when the show returns, it will be run by a panel of “Hot Talkers” for a week, Variety reports. “As she has for the past 10 years, Wendy delivers an incomparable live talk show day in and day out and we want to give her the best opportunity to heal and recover,” Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein said in a statement. “Wendy has our complete and unwavering support and we look forward to her return to the iconic purple chair.”
Following an upper-arm injury, the Ask Wendy author missed her December 17 show but then returned the following day and finished her week. On December 20, she was criticized for slurring her words through the episode.
“I sincerely apologize if you feel that today’s show was less than stellar. I’m on your TV screens every day wanting to spread laughter, entertainment and cheer. As I reported earlier in the week, I have a hairline fracture on my upper arm, which hurts like hell,” she wrote on Instagram after the broadcast. “I’ve never broken a bone or experienced a fracture in my life. In the key place where the fracture is, and trying to scurry around and do too much, I am now paying the price. I’ve never taken a pain medication in my life (except when I got snatched over 20 years ago) until this week.”
The talk show then had a planned hiatus for a week, which was extended a second week so that she could fully heal. When Williams officially heads back to set, it will be her first show in a month.

It seems Kevin Hart was moved to action by the Lifetime docuseries “Surviving R. Kelly.”
The comedian, who refuses to host the Oscars, shared that after watching he immediately went to talk to his kids, Hendrix, 11, and Heaven, 13.
“It just makes you understand that you have to be present,” Hart, 39, told Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM channel Radio Andy on Wednesday. “You have to be present. You have to talk to your kids. You have to make sure your kids got so much confidence in the ability to just have a conversation and talk.”
He called the entire situation “sad.”
“What you realize is that you’re looking at real damaged individual,” he added. “This is past perverted or sick. This is some other s–t.”
Hart, who welcomed his third child with wife Eniko Parrish in 2017, advised parents to redirect that negative energy off Kelly and put it back into the home.
“Make sure this is a time where you embrace your household,” he added. “Your family. Your loved ones. And just make sure you’re talking to these kids, man. You don’t want this to be your child.”
