The show must go on, I guess.
A woman auditioning for American Idol in Texas last Monday went into labor while singing for the judges. Antoria Gillon, 20, wasn’t actually due until August 9, so she thought it was totally reasonable for her to wait in line for 16 hours and go through with the audition process.
“I felt something over my body when I was walking,” she said. “I knew right away what it was. I was singing, and the judge stopped and asked if I was OK, and I said, ‘I just want to finish my song.'”
An ambulance pulled up and everyone urged her to get in. “I said, ‘Well, I haven’t gotten my golden ticket yet,’ ” she said. She finished singing, got the “golden ticket,” and went off to the hospital, where she delivered her second child, a healthy baby boy.
So what’d she name the kid? Jamil Labarron Idol McCowan. Which I’m sure will be a really fun reminder for the rest of her life when she doesn’t make it to the finals.
Sad to be 20 with 2 children and I’m sure she’s not married & they have 2 different fathers. We have got to do better than we are. We as a people should stop wondering why “white america” talks so bad about us or how we are stereo typed when we continue to do it to ourselves. JUST SAD!
To the person that just commented, how can you judge this woman if you don’t even know her? You are just like everyone else. Why can’t you just be happy for her and not be all in her business, I mean so what if she isn’t married, that was her choice to have a baby, its so sad how that beautiful story had to get turned around so fast. You should be ashamed of yourself.
I agree. i cannot believe “Na Tasha” is that d**m ignorant that, that is the only thing that she got out of this story! She had absolutely nothing positive to say at all. My parents got married very young so it it not out of the ordinary. You are a sad case and has the nerve to call someone else sad. Stop hating. It does not really matter that she is 20 going on baby #2, that is is or is not married, or if the children have different fathers… I can assure you she is not the first or the last and it’s not just a black thing.
This girl has a dream… and that dream gave her ambition and motivation to act on it and not keep dreaming about it…. for that I give her props… Maybe it’s not her that needs to do better, maybe it is you.

A anotoria, you know who this is right ? This is your brother in law. Congradulations! I talked to my mom for the first time since I been in Iraq and her and my brother were telling me about it. I had to see it myself. Its sad that this is the first time that I seen my nephew, after everyone else has seen him. You still gonna sing at my wedding when ever I do decide to get married right ?
