Guilt

I fully admit that I’m tough on Jennifer Aniston.  I’d really have no issue with her if it wasn’t for the near-constant interviews in which she talks about Brad Pitt.  Her neediness seems only to be overshadowed by her chin.  But now she’s gone and done something really nice that I must acknowledge … and I feel a little guilty for being so harsh.

Aniston has been in New York filming the thriller The Bounty with Gerard Butler.  Over the Fourth of July weekend, she paid every crew member’s salary for the Thursday preceding the holiday so that they could have four consecutive days of vacation.  Rumor has it that she personally walked around the set telling each employee “It was my husband’s idea.”  (I’m lying about that.)  A crew member said, “Jen is such a genuinely good person.  How many people in this world would pay for an entire movie set to have off for the day? Not just anyone does that. We’re talking big bucks.”   Listen, Jennifer Aniston has big bucks — she gets paid a subsidy every episode, every market when a Friends rerun airs — but she certainly is under no obligation to share the wealth.  Therefore, I begrudgingly admit that that was a really nice, completely un-Hollywoodish thing to do.

  • I like her. She seems like she’s fun and genuine. And I think it’s the reporters who bring up Brad, she just has to live with it.

    • I totally agree. It’s the media that is always asking her questions about Brad. What’s she going to do? Not respond? I like her. She seems like a genuinely nice person

    • I agree too. However, if she was smart she’d have her agent insist that she not be asked questions about him. Still, I like her too.

      • of course if she did insist that reporters not ask her about Brad, THAT would get out and then she’d be persecuted for being a bitch. Doesn’t seem like she can win this one.

      • OH MY FUCKING GOD! Anonymous and Thanks Asshole are either the same fucking person or share the same fucking avatar!!! Either way, Anonymous is now officially my favorite Evil Beet poster, even though I wish he/she would just come clean and post from now on as Thanks Asshole, who speaks my fucking language like no other when shown nipples without warning.

      • It was me! I forgot to put my nombre in.

In other news, does anyone think agree that if Sheryl Crow and Meg Ryan had a child it would be Jennifer Aniston in this pic? My lord.

      • Are you really that big of an idiot? Anonymous is the name provided for any commented who doesn’t include their own name in the post.
        It could be ANYONE.

      • Damn! As the newly nominated Gossip Site Czar you’d think they’d have briefed me on how Beets avatars are chosen. Where’s that fucking Tim Geitner, I’m gonna have a piece of his ass??!!

  • I think Jen’s awesome. She seems like a pretty down-to-earth person– no controversies unlike other celebs.

  • Its obvious to me- SHE needed the day off for “something”. This way she gets good press instead of the inevitable snarkiness that she is a spoiled hollywood actress.

    • Wow you’re an asshole. Someone can’t do something good without people like you thinking that they’re a selfish “spoiled hollywood actress”. Wow. Get a fucking life.

  • Very nice indeed. The most I ever see the lead actors ever buy the crew is coffee or beer. Cheap bastards with their millions.

    • its there money…they earned it……..they are not required or obligated to give it away…….

  • How much did she pay the crew member to leak the story? I agree Wendie, I despise her, and this was a nice thing to do, so I’ll give her that. But I still don’t like her.

  • She’s a neurotic, self involved insecure person, like 99% of all the actors and actresses out there. She’s having a problem moving on and if she never spoke of Brad it would be so much better but then nobody would really care, so she uses it because it’s press. However, paying for that extra day off was a generous gesture, and look at all the positive press, everyone wins. It was probably done without a thought to how it would be perceived but it worked out well for her, for the first time in a while.
