Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Is Izzie Dead Yet?

First off: My sincere apologies for the crazy downtime this afternoon and for all the problems people were having getting the site to refresh. I think (hope?) we’ve resolved them for the time being, and we’re continuing to look at improvements that will make the site run faster and have less downtime. Thank you for those of you who emailed me to report an issue — I appreciate it, because sometimes everything looks fine on my end but it’s not working fine for everyone, so it’s useful when you guys email me to let me know. It is way better to get those emails than the “OMG U R UGLEE & UR FORHEAD IS HUGE” emails, which are sweet, but not really as actionable. (Is there even a surgery for forehead size? I will email Audrina Patridge about it. If she tracked down a doctor who could fix her ceiling eyes, she is clearly capable of anything. And I’m inexplicably on her blogroll, so she obviously loves me.)

OK. So back to the important business.

I haven’t watched Grey’s Anatomy in years, mostly because when Katherine Heigl is on the screen I just want to slap somebody, and since I live alone I was afraid I would start injuring my cats. So you’d think I’d be delighted to watch this footage of her close to death in the 100th episode — and I guess I am, kinda — but even though she’s dying she’s still annoying as hell. Seriously. This trailer of Izzie dying annoys me. How is anyone on this planet not annoyed with the Izzie character?

Anyway. Yeah. Izzie’s dying, Denny’s ghost is off to jump the shark again usher her to the netherworld, Derek and Meredith are getting married, and the truth is I’m probably never going to watch this show again. Katherine Heigl ruined it for me forever.

  • I don’t watch the show, but I do watch all clips that involve Jeffrey Dean Morgan. I really hope that his career is way more influenced this year by Watchmen than this pile of shit.

    Don’t ruin Jeffrey, Katherine!

  • Agree with Beet about Heigl (how do you even pronounce her last name?)
    *probable spoiler*
Anywayz going by the pics u ran a while back, it’s not gonna be a Mer-Der wedding and I am sure everybody, pretty much, must have guessed who is actually getting married!

  • I actually like Izzie. I don’t find her annoying at all. But I do hate Denny. He annoys me.

  • Beet what’s with the redirect? Trying to get rid of me or is it a glitch? When I came her I would get redirected to a google search page so I had to block the redirect to get here.

  • I was hating on Izzie a lot before she started dying but now I kinda like her again so…that sucks for her. She should have started being more likable and less of a biotch early.

  • I can’t stand Kathrine Heigl and anything she does. She plays every part the same and totally random, but her teeth REALLY annoy me. Don’t ask me why because I honestly don’t know. I should go take my meds now.

  • So the actor who plays Denny is also the dead Comedian at the beginning of Watchmen, as well as the dead husband at the outset of Weeds. Like, he pops up here and there in both, but only in flashbacks, ’cause he’s dead. Also, he’s in P.S. I Love You which I haven’t seen but he’s in it and the movie has something to do with a dead person. My point is, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is being typecast as a dead heartthrob. Which is a really weird market to corner.

  • I finally realized why I hate Grey’s so bad now. Other than Izzie being incredibly annoying, every single character on that show rushes their lines and talks so darn fast and “forced”. There’s no pausing…nothing that seems “real”. And mainly they open their mouths to blab about their feelings or opinions or something none of us even remotely care about. Give me some suspense, something unspoken to look forward to…but alas, apparently “actors” aren’t taught that these days. I can’t honestly say there is even one character I still like on that show. I liked seasons 1 & 2 a lot, but it’s so monotonous now. The whole staff could die with the building collapsing and I really could not care less.
