Jade Goody Funeral Service

Jack Tweed Carries Jade's Coffin

Services were held for Jade Goody early Friday at St. John the Baptist Church in either Buckhurst Hill or Waltham Abbey.  The way English people name their towns is confusng to me, so I’m not exactly sure what the place was called.

Several moderately famous television personalities were in attendance, as well as some fans who donned bright yellow sashes emblazoned with “In loving memory of Jade,” and stood on the street in front of a large projector screen displaying Jade’s name and dates of birth & death. Her two sons, as reported earlier, were not in attendance.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Tweed, her mother, Jackiey Budden, and her lasting legacy of making everyone feel weird and conflicted about the exploitative, public nature of celebrity death.

  • Kelly, it is refreshing to see someone reporting Goody’s death and remembering the bad bits as well. I live in England and all you hear about is what a fantastic woman she was and all she has done to raise awareness about cervical cancer (I will give her that, the smear tests in Britain have multiplied), when only a year ago she was being crucified and laughed at everywhere for her lack of culture and general knowledge.

    • MIREEE,

CAN YOU LET THE GIRL “REST IN PEACE”.
SHE’S GONE BUT CLEARLY YOUR JEALOUSY IS’NT!
EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES AND WHEN YOU MAKE THEM IN THE PUBLIC EYE THEY GET PLASTERED EVERYWHERE AND ANYWHERE.
LET THE PAST GO, HER “REAL” FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE REMEMBERING HER FOR THE PERSON SHE WAS TO THEM AND NOT WHAT IDIOTS WHO CONTINUOUSLY BRING UP THE PAST THINK!

      • Coleen, first of all thank you for making my eyes bleed – we all know Caps Lock is Cruise Control for Awesome. Second, get your reading skills sorted, mate. I have not criticised Goody (in fact I have even said she has done a big part for the fight against cervical cancer), but I am criticising society, as she was laughed at when she was well and alive but now she is dead everyone loves her blindly – just like you are doing. And third – why would I be jealous of someone who died of a painful form of cancer aged only 27 and was the laughing stock of the nation for years? Nah.

      • I’m gonna have to go with mireee on this one. I for one have no clue who this chick is. So you douches are forming a line to sign a petition to make her a saint because she died in the public eye? Why would you jump to “jealous” right away, coleen? Does all hate stem from jealousy in your eyes? By that logic, you either love Hitler or are jealous of him.. and please, turn off the CAPS, douchetard

    • i like jade goody but mostly i thought she is a bitch.

  • It does seem really odd that people are practically canonizing her. It’s a horrible thing she went through, all the more scary that she’s my age and my children are the same age as hers, but she wasn’t a perfect person. Who is? I think you pointed it out well, which is as fitting a tribute as could be. It’s certainly more dignified than some of the maudlin tributes people have been leaving.

  • What gets up my nose is the fact that everyone is saying she was thinking about her kids wellfare and future when she found out she was dying and she is praised for that BUT! who was she thinking about when she IGNORED! her smear results with abnormal cells, she wasnt thinking about her kids then was she, if she was they might still have her today instead of suffering like they are

    • To the Anonymous person: The reason why Jade Goody IGNORED the results with abnormal cells it was because she did not now anything about cancer, SHE said that, in an interview in This Morning TV. So please STOP talking about things that you don’t know. Have some respect for the dead.
I never met Jade Goody, but I love her and I always will, remember her as long as I live.

      • and ur trying to tell me that the doctors didnt explain things to her nah not buying it

  • As a uk resident I am pleased to see that women are queueing up to be screened and now maybe will be less ignorant about abnormal cell results.

  • some1 enlighten me i was under the impression that Jade was not at fault, she was cleared twice before of cancer following test results. she sought medical advice after collapsing in her home a few years back and tests were not taken for cancer at that time, tests were only taken again a few months before she was diagnosed. it was at this time she didnt respond to the call back. by then it could have already been too late. whats to be will be. R.I.P. jade.

  • all jade did was get cancer she didnt personally use her time in the public eye to raise awareness or make any effort to, she just televised everything she could for money, she didn’t care bout people goin getting screened so dont u people start hailing her as saint ‘goody’ two shoes cos she wasn’t, everyone gave her shit when she was alive and now shes dead shes a saint u make me sick

  • Anonymous: Shame on you!! You’re obviously the “sick” one! I hope to God….you’re not a mother yourself! Grrrr!

  • And no doubt with a comment like that….you’re probably just a spotty, young, billy no mates, geeky lookin virgin!!
