Things Are Not Going Well for Mindy McCready

Mindy’s like the Britney Spears of the country world right now. Well, last year’s Britney Spears of the country world. The troubled singer was hospitalized early this morning for a suicide attempt.

Mindy spent time in a Texas rehab in July of this year after a previous suicide attempt.

Get thee back to treatment, lady!

  • she is way worse than Spears. She has quite the arrest record. I feel bad for her :( I hope she can get the help that she so desperately needs

  • shes not the britney of country. id say somebody like carrie underwood or taylor swift would be the britneys of country. mindy did not have a remarkable music career and it was so long ago.

and many of her issues stem from being a drug addict and abuse victim, very sad. nothing like britney.

  • If she wants to die so bad, let her. Spend time saving those of us who want to live. OK, I know that I’m not being nice, but honestly, every day people fight hard to keep their lives, and they have it a thousand times harder than this girl. Besides, anyone who really wants to commit suicide, can do it, easily. She wants to pretend to commit suicide so someone can “save” her.

    • Dunno if you realize this but A LOT of ‘suicide attempts’ actually are ‘pretend’ because the victim wants to be saved. It’s a desperate call for help a lot of times.

Bloody ignorant and insensitive comment of you. The woman obviously need help (regardless of her exact reasons for the act).

  • Anyone trying to commit suicide is in an *incredible* amount of pain. I hope she gets the help and peace she needs.

  • Depression isn’t just something you can up and get rid of. She doesn’t just wake up one day saying “Hey, I think I’ll try to commit suicide today.”
No, it’s more than that. I hope she’s getting the help she needs, physically and spiritually. May God be with her in her trying time.

  • McCready did this in order to “illicit” a response from the married Roger Clemens.

She planned the “suicide” so that someone would find her and even called her assistant. McCready now expects Clemens to run to her side and either leave his wife or make his wife very angry by reacting to this manipulative stunt.

Sad when women have to manipulate to get a reaction from a man. I hope Clemens looks the other way and doesn’t fall for it. If he does “fall for it”, the wife should pull the same “stunt”…then they will be “even”. Well, not really, one is the wife.

  • she clearly doesnt want to die because she asked for help when she realized what she did…she seems to be crying out for help poor thing…no matter what her motives she still sounds like a sick woman who deserves help….

  • I hope she gets it together, didn’t she have a baby a year or so ago? It’s sad that she had risen so far and fallen so hard – she’s never going to get her career back, and what’s she going to do to make a living? This could have happened for a lot of reasons, I doubt Roger Clemens had anything to do with it, she went on to marry and date many other men after Roger.

  • It makes me sick when people say “if she/he really wanted to commit suicide, they would do it”, or “if you want to kill yourself, get on with it already”. Those are sad comments from people who do not know what it’s like to hit rock bottom and not want to live. My grandfather used to “threaten” to kill himself, and people made fun of him for it and said he would never do it. Well, guess what? He did. July 5th, 1995. And it was very difficult for our family. Also, drug addiction is a very difficult habit to kick. Yes, it can be done. But not always easily. Please keep in mind that some people do not have the inner strength needed to fight to live, and live well. These are the people that end up as these stories. God bless her, her family, and all of you as well.

  • I just think one of the reasons I love this site is that a lot of the contributors are decent and sympathetic people. The thread above just demonstrates that.
