Menage a Trois!

Rosie O’Donnell poses with her partner (wife?) Kelli Carpenter and Fran Drescher at Rosie’s Gala in NYC on Monday night.

I don’t have much to say about this, except for that Fran Drescher always looks fantastic. She has really aged well.

Also: I am firmly opposed to any sort of ban on gay marriage, as you all know by now. A ban on pantsuits on the red carpet, though? I’d vote for that shit.

  • Fran Drescher and Kelli Carpenter are rocking it! Can’t sy much about the gorilla in the middle.
Still is nice to have Rosie not making derogatory commnents about those on the View.

  • rosie’s lookin a little possessive there.. and that other woman has no idea how to stand; lose the body-rod!

  • I’m tired of the one in the middle. Send her off with Babwa Wawa to a deserted island along with all dowdy pant suits–prontO.

  • she has had excellent work done [fillers etc] looks really top draw. Isn’t it called civil partnership though as the marriage cannot be done in a religious building? Someone in the know, please fill me in.

  • @ spob

In the United States there is both civil marriage (marriage licenses obtained from a clerk/ Justice of the Peace’s office) and religious marriages performed in your church/mosque/synagogue etc. A civil marriage is what has weight in entitling you to federal and state benefits while a religious marriage is more ceremonial and is what shows you as a couple before the eyes of God.

Some religious groups will preform marriages on homosexuals, others will not. Such marriages do not have federal standing and religious institutions are not required to marry anybody they don’t want to. (Separation of Church and State)

In the United States same sex marriages are legal in both Massachusetts and Connecticut. (They were also legal in California until Proposition 8 passed, which overturned the previous Court ruling that had made the marriages legal.) Additionally, while New York, Rhode Island and New Mexico will not perform these marriages, they recognize those performed out of state.

Oregon, New Hampshire, Vermont Hawaii, Maryland, Washington, Maine, and now California perform civil unions that give most of if not all, depending on the state, the rights of marriage.

Hope that helps explain things! :)

  • You have to remember how old Fran is.. she was in Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta. She looks really good for her age. I don’t care about gay marriage one way or the other. What I DO hate is how Rosie is always trying to shove gay rights and shit like that down America’s throat. You’re gay, we get it Rosie. It’s not like you were fooling anyone before you came out.

  • How can anyone get mad at Rosie for standing up for who she is? Maybe you don’t like to hear it but I bet she hates having some of her rights taken away. At least she has conviction.
