Today's Evil Beet Gossip

R.I.P.

King of the Hill is no longer.  Who cares?  I can’t believe that shit has been on for 13 years.  Not once have the pickings ever been so slim that I’ve resorted to watching an episode.

  • Amen. What happened to quality adult cartoons like Beevis and Butthead and Daria? Oops I think I just dated myself.

  • It is true that this show is unbearable to watch. I have not been able to sit through and entire episode. But, there should be a series finally where all are gathered around Hank’s propane barbeque and John Red Corn is acknowledge as Joseph’s father and Buckley is resurrected.

  • My friend once told me I must be only one to own it on DVD above the Mason-Dixon line. If your from the small town south, its funny. If not, its aggravating. Watch for it on Adult Swim starting in January!

  • I can’t believe you guys didn’t get this show. Granted, the last few years have been blah, but there are early episodes that make me laugh so hard I get tears in my eyes. Like the one where Bobby gets caught practicing kissing with LuAnne’s hairdresser practice head. Or the one where Bill dates Khan’s mother.

Well, to each her own. : )

  • WHAT?
    WHAT??????

    NO!

This is the greatest show of my life… my brother and I watch reruns of it every night.. :(

It’s so hilarious… I don’t understand how anyone could hate it unless they’re severely unintelligent.

  • I’m from a small town in the south, is that why i like it? I admit that I won’t sit and watch it all the time. But i won’t ever say it was a bad show.

  • ugh, no, i hate it.
but to be fair, i’ve never been able to sit through more than five minutes of it.
i think, actually, a lot of it might have to do with the fact that visually it’s so UGLY. you know? makes it a lot harder to watch it when i’m not interested – it’s, like, grotesque.

  • @M. Lady, I live in the Pacific NW and while I don’t have it on DVD I actually enjoyed the show the few times I watched it. So you’re not alone. :)

I can see how someone would think it’s bad without seeing it or only seeing part of an episode. If someone else hadn’t been watching it while I was around, I probably would have avoided it at all costs thinking it was stupid redneck humor. It’s funny, but I’m not really heartbroken that it’s over, I didn’t even know they were still making new episodes.

  • I hated this show. It was so freaking boring and I cant believe it lasted more than 4 episodes. I also cant believe I have watched more than 4 episodes because for some reason my mom thinks all cartoons are the shit.

  • It’s character humour… You have to watch an episode or two to get a feel for the different people in it, and then it’s really funny. If you’re so ADD that you can’t watch more than 5 minutes, of course it’s going to seem bad.

  • @Coral

Yes!!! The wig head episode was hilarious!

And the part where Hank was saying something to Bobby about girls having cooties, and a confused Bobby responds, “you mean clamidia?”

Loved it. Haven’t watched in years, but there were a few great moments.

  • My 16 year old son turned me on to King of the Hill and we’ll miss it.

It has the best characters. The episode where Hank had to prove that he was a man is a classic. I don’t understand why a smart funny cartoon is considered boring. Intelligent humor is hard to find anymore.

  • i guess it’s true…2 each his own…i personally enjoyed this show and sad to hear it’s ending…definitely want 2 c if Dale ever finds out Joesph is not his son!

  • I love that show! I live in California but I am originally from Alabama and it is a fairly accurate portrayal of how retarded many in the south are, it’s the only way I can find a way to laugh about that fact. I’m so sad that it’s ending :( Anyway am I the only person who thinks American Dad is one of the least funny shows on TV, Family Guy is pretty offensive but at least funny! American Dad is just offensive without the laughs, like a second rate rip-off of Family Guy, why they created it in the 1st place I’ll never understand. It reminds me of certain comedians, who in lieu of being able to write actual creative funny material resort to trying to shock you with gross out jokes about masturbating and shitting, etc with lots of over the top profanity tossed in the mix, but it can’t quite disguise their overall lack of talent and wit, Dane Cook comes to find.

  • Okay, I’m sorry. I loved this show.
I only saw a few episodes of it, but the characters were hilarious.
Look, I’m from the South, and being Southern DOES NOT make you a retard.
    Like Leah.
Or whatever the hell her yankee ass’ name is.

  • Wendie, when you proclaim that something sucks AND say you’ve never once seen it, you sound ridiculous.

  • i can’t believe there are people who don’t like it. it’s soooo funny. maybe the problem is that they are expecting a simpsons or family guy type spoof and don’t realize that it is just like any other (good) sitcom, it just happens to be animated.

  • I loved King of the Hill.
having lived in texas, i thought this was the funniest show ever. It is just like crazy texans.
    long live the king!

  • Obviously you guys didnt get the show…it was brilliant!
And to the person who made the beavis and butthead ,it was created by the same guy.
Im sad for America, no tase..go back to dancing with the stars while your brain goes numb.
