Colin Powell endorses Barack Obama

Republican and former US Secretary of State under President George W. Bush has endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.  In a nutshell, he thinks John McCain is a bit unsure how to handle some challenges and Sarah Palin isn’t ready to be president.  The full clip of Powell as he appeared on Meet the Press this morning.  Thoughts?

  • I think NEITHER would make a good president. They both have bad ideas and plan on making shitty decisions.

  • HAHA @ tigerlille
I think some forgot to take their midol this morning.

Anywho, I really don’t think anyone cares about who endorses who anymore. It’s just pointless.

  • really? I think a lot of people are interested in this Powell one. That’s why it’s everywhere on the news and all.

I mean… he has a unique point of view, no? And that fact that most people thought he would stick Republican.

I just thought it was rather interesting. It’s not like Colin Powell is like Brad Pitt or some other random celebrity. I would think that his views are more relevant than a lot of others.

  • Amazing. One of the best speeches I have heard in a very long time. Incredibly relevant outside of celebrity gossip.

  • Wow! I think it’s great news but I wish he’d endorsed Obama earlier.

Hey, thanks for the update. I found this blog because I searched for info on “Jon and Kate Plus 8” and now I’m addicted. To the blog, I mean; I can’t watch the sextuplet show anymore because I find it too stressful and irritating.

  • He is such an articulate, elegantly intelligent man. I always wish he could have been president. He never would have won; he’s too nice and republican would have torn him apart in the primaries, but I do love him

and he looks like my stepdad:)

  • Speaking of Barack Obama:

Barack Obama is a racial-minority individual, and in his heart and mind he inevitably does not endorse hate crimes committed by George W. Bush.

George W. Bush committed hate crimes of epic proportions and with the stench of terrorism (indicated in my blog).

George W. Bush did in fact commit innumerable hate crimes.

And I do solemnly swear by Almighty God that George W. Bush committed other hate crimes of epic proportions and with the stench of terrorism which I am not at liberty to mention.

Many people know what Bush did.

And many people will know what Bush did—even to the end of the world.

    Bush was absolute evil.

Bush is now like a fugitive from justice.

    Bush is a psychological prisoner.

Bush has a lot to worry about.

Bush can technically be prosecuted for hate crimes at any time.

In any case, Bush will go down in history in infamy.

I am not sure where I had read it before, but anyway, it is a linguistically excellent statement, and it goes kind of like this: “If only it were possible to ban invention that bottled up memories so they never got stale and faded.” Oh wait—off the top of my head—I think the quotation came from my Lower Merion High School yearbook.
