Bryan Singer calls bullshit on sexual abuse accusations

I still really don’t know what to make of the accusations that Bryan Singer sexually abused a 15-year-old boy, claiming he could help him get roles if he consented to whatever the hell was going on at these crazy parties they used to throw in the Hollywood Hills. The X-Men director was apparently a big part of this scene in the ’90s (I’m assuming he isn’t anymore) and it’s all pretty disturbing, if true. Of course, Singer says it’s not.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

“The allegations against me are outrageous, vicious and completely false,” the X-Men: Days of Future Past director said Thursday.

He continued: “I do not want these fictitious claims to divert ANY attention from X-Men: Days of Future Past. This fantastic film is a labor of love and one of the greatest experiences of my career. So, out of respect to all of the extraordinary contributions from the incredibly talented actors and crew involved, I’ve decided not to participate in the upcoming media events for the film. However, I promise when this situation is over, the facts will show this to be the sick twisted shakedown it is. I want to thank fans, friends and family for all their amazing and overwhelming support.”

Huh. I mean, look – the person who filed the lawsuit against Singer did first do this in 2000 (though he hadn’t directly named Singer at that point), so I feel like there’s probably a basis of truth in it, in which case… fuck Bryan Singer and all his cronies and the people like him in Hollywood that prey on the desperation of young kids who want to be stars. It’s just disgusting.

Of course, he’s innocent until proven guilty and all that, so perhaps the truth will come out at some point (not that I ever think he’d admit it – wishful thinking).

  • Not a secret, been going on forever. Singer’s boy pool parties are legendary. They’ve been going on up until recently, I’ve seen pics of the parties with Singer and guys like Ian McKlennan, Taylor Lautner, Shawn Ashmore, etc. How many of the young guys weren’t underage is unknown, of course. Pedophilia is so, so bad in show biz, but I can’t see it ending, sadly
