Kirsten Dunst is L’Oréal Professionnel’s First Ever Spokesperson

You don’t hear all that much about Kirsten Dunst these days. She’s been keeping it low key, which makes a change for young Hollywood actresses. However, just because she’s been quiet doesn’t mean she hasn’t been working – in fact, she’s actually just booked a pretty exclusive deal as the first ever spokesperson for L’Oréal Professionnel and will become the face of the haircare branch of the company.

Here’s Kirsten’s statement:

“I feel very close to L’Oréal Professionnel. The brand is strongly connected to fashion and I admire its commitment to innovation, constantly creating new professional services and products to achieve the most on-trend styles.”

And a statement from International managing director of L’Oréal Professionnel Anne-Laure Lecerf:

“Kirsten Dunst has a timeless beauty and is a modern woman, closely connected to fashion. She has a strong personality and makes her own choices.

“Her great professionalism and commitment to excellence make Kirsten one of the most talented actresses I have ever met. She has the perfect attributes to embody the new values of L’Oréal Professionnel.”

And that’s that. I’d be super interested to see the data on how much more likely people are to buy a product just because a certain celebrity was endorsing it in comparison to, say, a regular model hired to do the job. Is it that big of a difference, really? Kirsten Dunst wouldn’t make me look twice at a shampoo or whatever she’ll be selling, but then I’m not a Kirsten Dunst fan. Then again, I’m a Kate Winslet fan and I’ve never bought anything by Lancome, so… who can say.

Have you ever bought anything just because it was endorsed by a celeb you like?

  • Uh, when I think of great hair, Dunst doesn’t come to mind. She’d be great for Invisalign, though.
