Miley Cyrus Can’t Stop Cutting Her Hair

That photo right there, that was taken about a week ago, and it was Miley‘s second haircut of the summer. I thought she was done – it looked great, she could still put her hair up in that silly bun to go the gym or whatever. But it looks like Miley wasn’t finished with her great journey. No, not even close.

Miley was gracious enough to let us take this adventure with her, starting yesterday when she tweeted “tick tock tick tock.” But what are we waiting for? We were waiting for this:

I know, I was terrified too. She followed that up with a cryptic “it’s happening,” followed by “if you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything at all. my hair is attached to my head no one else’s and it’s going bye bye.” Oh, and a smiley face. She posted a picture of the bun ACTUALLY being cut off, then this, the finished product:

Whoa.

She posted a good few pictures after that, and she tweeted some really nice sentiments like “never felt more me in my whole life” and “bliss,” along with another smiley face. She also said that she was “feeling so happy in my skin,” a notion that went along with this darling photo:

So what do you think? Apparently a lot of people aren’t so into it, because the last thing that Miley tweeted was that her dad, Billy Ray, used to tell her that “opinions are like ass holes every body has one,” but that she really likes her hair and she feels “so happy, pretty and free.” Personally, I liked her last cut better, but she still looks great, and it’s obvious that she feels amazing about it, so I’m happy for her.

And I’m not trying to start something, but doesn’t this sound just so much like breakup hair? She’s still with Liam, she’s wearing her engagement ring in these pictures, but I just have to guess that she cut ties with someone in her life. I cut all my hair off when I broke up with my best friend last year, and I felt a lot like Miley’s tweets. So what I’m saying, I suppose, is “do you, sister.” And really, she’s pretty gorgeous any way you slice it, right?

    • I’m glad you brought Britney up, because I think Miley is Britney Lite. I’ve alway thought she had a screw loose and now she’s hacking away at her hair. Next thing you know, she’ll be bald and carried out of her house strapped to a gurney.

  • I absolutely love it! I just hate the phony hair extensions…so pathetic. I adore the short hair cuts on her, they scream “fresh and natural.”

  • The fiancée must be loving this new style before the wedding… Personally, I hate it as it makes her look more like a squirrel than before. She was better looking with mid length hair. Short hair on girls is for impressing other girls…like poncho’s.

  • Don’t care, it’s just hair. Everything she does lately she has to make it sound like a soul searching event that’s going to help her to reach another level in life(cry of attention more like it). Like I said, it’s just a hair cut, it grows, you should change it up every once in a while in life.

  • I used to have a near-addiction to slicing, dicing, and dying my hair every few weeks because I would just get so bored and feel the need to match my head to however my personality was developing that month. Maybe that’s where li’l Miles is coming from? The worst of it (or best, depending on your viewpoint) for me was around the ages of 19-21 while I was trying to really establish myself as an adult. Every time I made a change, I told everyone, “This is REALLY me, you guys. This is how I was meant to be!” And then I realized, ‘Wait, no… ME is clearly a redhead, not a blonde…” and I would switch again. I don’t really enjoy defending Miley, and I’m not sure I’m actually doing that, but all of the changes she’s going through right now, including the 19 years-young engagement (which I did too) make me think she just really wants us to take her seriously as, you know, like, a grown-up. You know? But the cut’s pretty cute either way.

  • Explore that edge, beautiful Miley. Sorry I called you “duck face.”

Looks like you are ready to explode out of your Disney personality, and good for you, sweetheart.

  • My first thoughts: “Before the wedding?!” and “Oh no! That is totally break-up hair!”

But all in all, judging by other pictures and not the 2 in this article, I really like it.

  • Somebody snuck into the “no no” drawer and stole mama’s scissors. She now looks like Robyn. But Miley is not Swedish, there’s just no excuse.
