The media freaked earlier today when Whitney Houston’s ex-husband, Bobby Brown, reportedly left the funeral soon after it began. Not a good look, Bobby Brown.
In a statement put out by his representative, he explained, “My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions.
“I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move,” he said. “Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.”
That’s all well and good, but TMZ (via Celebuzz) paints a very different picture:
According to TMZ, the New Edition member got into it with Whitney’s family over whether or not he could bring nine people into the church. Brown had been invited to the service and was allowed to bring two guests. However, Bobby showed up to the Saturday memorial with nine other people. His party was not granted entrance as the church did not have enough seats for Bobby’s entourage.
TMZ’s version of the story does confirm that, for whatever reason, Bobby Brown was not permitted to sit with daughter Bobbi Kristina.
Yikes.

Well it took class and bravery to face the opposition and honor her in a dignified manner.. I think his family and other children insisted they be included.. no win situation. The guy needs money and has to work to support them.. he’s mostly drug free and doing well. Bobbi is another problem he can’t control, but they should have time alone after this.. I am sure her rehab counselors will have a meeting or two with him and appraise if it is worth it at this time. Cissy Houston is a mini monster for all her seemingly lovely attention and concerns to her daughter, and grand daughter.. she let them fall into the addiction trap again and the relatives ganged around Whitney to reap the rewards, that’s why she chose another man to hide with, to escape them .. shame.
