Watch This: Adele’s Acceptance Speech and Grammy Performance

First of all, I want to show you guys the video of Adele accepting the award for Album of the Year. She definitely deserved this, but, as you can see in the video, none of the fame has gone to her head one bit. This is easily the most charming acceptance speech I have ever heard, and really, it just makes me want to be Adele’s BFF even more. Not only because of her precious self (“oh, I got a bit of snot”), but her speaking voice, I can barely handle it. She sounds like the imaginary friend I had when I was seven years old, except she’s a way better singer. I love it.

And speaking of being a phenomenal singer, Adele performed her song “Rolling in the Deep” last night. It was kind of a big deal, as this was the first time we’ve seen Adele perform since she had that surgery where doctors used lasers on her angelic vocal cords, but I think she did a fantastic job.

What do you think? Do you think she sounded any different? Some people are saying that it sounds like she should have taken a bit more time so that her voice could heal more, but I think she was flawless. Then again, I’m pretty sure I’m never going to think a remotely negative thought about Adele for the rest of my whole life, so that view could perhaps be a little biased.

Lastly, I wanted to show you my new favorite video ever, which was of the audience’s standing ovation after Adele finishes singing “Rolling in the Deep.” Check it out real quick:

See, everyone’s standing for several reasons, such as Adele is fantastic, and she did a really good job, especially considering her surgery. Everyone loves Adele, and that’s why everyone seems so happy for her. But wait! If you go to around the 0:13 mark in the video, you can see Lady Gaga spotting the camera and then standing. She didn’t even stand for Adele. Unless she broke her ankle wearing some of her ridiculous shoes, which is plausible, then that’s just disrespectful.

Also of note is Rihanna‘s reaction. You can see her right after Lady Gaga, she’s there rubbing her temples and making what looks like a bitch face. Can anyone tell what she’s saying to her friend? I don’t know, it kind of looks like she’s over it here. To be fair though, if I was up against Adele for any award, I would be kind of over it too.  No one else had a chance.

DON’T YOU LOVE ADELE SO MUCH?!

  • Did anyone notice besides me that she kept lookin off to her left and smiling when she was performing? It was kind of cute I thought. Like a little girl in a huge candy store. She’s so far been unaffected by the music machine. Lets hope she stays that way. Her acceptance speech was awesome. I LOVE ADELE!
