A couple of years ago and all the way up to a few months ago, I thought the “Free Britney” movement was just a bunch of bored fans seeing something that wasn’t there. Boy was I wrong.
Britney herself has sat and watched as her millions of dedicated fans came together to relentlessly demand she be allowed to speak and do for herself.
It was because of that unwavering support that Britney says she cried Sunday night for two hours just thinking of the devotees who saw things through to the end. Who put her in a position where she can marry the man she loves and go on vacation without a chaperon.
And so with Instagram down, Brit took to Twitter last night to give thanks to those around her:
