The split comes as Joe awaits a final ruling in his deportation case after being ordered back to his native Italy after serving 41 months in prison for various counts of fraud.
“They discussed their future when Teresa and the girls went to Italy in early November and they agreed that each had to move on. They are doing so amicably and very slowly,” the source told the outlet.
The source told People that Joe has been out on a few dates, but Teresa had not. “She is happy for Joe,” the source said. “They have been very friendly with one another and are very supportive of each other’s happiness. They still love one another.”
The source said there are no immediate plans to divorce, but “neither is interested in a long-distance relationship.”
Teresa was also sentenced to 15 months behind bars for her involvement and served her time ahead of Joe’s stint.
