I know a lot of people grew up watching Saved By the Bell. Hell I even tuned in on occasion. But lets call it what it was. A blight on great canvas of teenage television that we can never take back. A mistake that some how worked. So what makes you think you can do it again and get the same unnatural reception?
Well Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley seem to think it can be done. Although I suspect Elizabeth is just happy to get a pay check.
The show is set to run on NBC’s streaming network.
Here’s the concept. You read while I go barf. The show logline reads, “When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state — including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the over privileged Bayside kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality.”
