I watch a LOT of home improvement tv. I mean every single night I watch at least 3 HGTV or DIY shows. So I was really heart broken to hear about Troy’s death.
Shafer’s brother told TMZ that he died unexpectedly in his sleep on April 28.
He had no medical conditions, so the cause of death is still unknown. A toxicology report was ordered, but that could weeks.
The official statement from the channel said; “The DIY Network family is sorry to hear about the passing of Troy Dean Shafer, a dedicated, driven entrepreneur and restoration expert who was admired by everyone who worked on the series ‘Nashville Flipped. We continue to extend our deepest condolences to Troy’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
