Demi Lavato’s friends carried Narcon leading up to OD

Demi Lovato and her friends reportedly had Narcan on hand while partying before her overdose.

The 25-year-old’s pals were reportedly prepared for things to go bad and had brought Narcan — an emergency medicine used to reverse the effects of some drug overdoses — with them on a “binger” the night before she was hospitalized, according to People magazine.

“She and her ‘friends’ were on a binger the entire night,” an insider told the magazine. “They keep Narcan on hand for such situations — they were prepared for this. The people she has been hanging around lately aren’t her real friends — they don’t have her best interests at heart. She’s pushed her true friends away.”

On Tuesday, emergency personnel was called to Lovato’s block at 11:22 a.m. Los Angeles time and transported a 25-year-old woman to a nearby hospital shortly afterward, the Los Angeles Fire Department previously confirmed to Page Six.

According to the emergency call, obtained by TMZ, the singer was unconscious when paramedics arrived. TMZ also said she had been treated with Narcan at her home.

TMZ reports that the incident occurred after an all-night party at Lovato’s home and that she refused to divulge which drug she’d overdosed on — except to adamantly deny that it was heroin.

People’s source also stressed that the “friends” Lovato was with on the bender with are a new group of people she has recently begun to spend time with.

“She had to find creative and sneaky ways to get drugs because her team and those that really care about her really try to keep a close watch on her,” the insider told the magazine.

The former Disney star has never shied away from talking about her struggles with addiction, specifically with cocaine, alcohol and OxyContin, the latter of which can lead to overdoses that can be treated with Narcan.

Last month, she released the song “Sober,” in which she revealed she had fallen off the wagon after six years of sobriety.

On Tuesday night, the singer was said to be in stable condition.
