Adam Scott and Craig Robinson are TV’s newest odd couple.
The pair — who Robinson says met at a party many years ago — are starring in the upcoming Fox comedy “Ghosted,” about two guys taking on paranormal activity together.
“We loved working together [on ‘Hot Tub Time Machine 2’],” Scott told Page Six at the ATX TV Festival on Thursday, “So when this popped up … it was like, ‘Oh, this is a perfect thing to do with Craig because I love those ’80s action comedies’ … ‘Midnight Run,’ ‘Beverly Hills Cop,’ ’48 Hours,’ all those movies mean a tremendous amount to all of us.”
Scott continued, “It’s an opportunity to both pay tribute and live out childhood fantasies of running around in an action comedy with a hilarious, awesome dude by my side.”
Of Scott and Robinson’s obvious bromance, executive producer Tom Gormican added, “They are an odd couple, but they are really good friends and that’s a chemistry that’s difficult to create. It’s great to use that.”
So far, they’ve only shot the pilot episode, but in seven weeks they will get back to work filming the last nine of the season.
“Ghosted” is set to premiere in the fall on Fox.
