I knew I liked Chance the Rapper the first time I saw him. He looks like the kind of person you can trust, and he can actually carry a tune.
Chance has been an advocate for Chicago youth for a while and my guy doesn’t just talk the talk. Yesterday he announced he’ll donate $1 million to helping Chicago public schools. And we’re not the only one’s that noticed.
“Thanks @chancetherapper for giving back to the Chicago community, which gave us so much,” tweeted Michelle Obama last night following Chance’s announcement. “You are an example of the power of arts education.” That last note seemingly a jab at the current White House Administration, which is making cutting the arts a top priority.
Lets hope he starts a theme in hip hop of giving back.
