If you’re a hipster who also happens to like magic (a very hipster hobby!), you’re probably a fan of David Blaine. He does lots of clever tricks and all the celebrities love him, so that makes him cool, I guess. He’s got a new special that’s either already been on or will be on in the next couple of days (sorry, I don’t care enough to see when it is) and one of his illusions involved him vomiting frogs for the likes of Drake, Stephen Curry and Dave Chappelle.
Sounds gross… and it actually kinda is. I don’t know how he’s done it, but having frogs in your mouth is never a good thing. It is, however, pretty hilarious due to the guys’ reactions. Have a look below:
How do you think he did it?
A lot of stuff is sleight of hand, but the frogs are real. He learned it from some guy in Liberia he was on a video and figured out how to do it (ingest and regurgitate water). He just added the frogs and goldfish for effect.
Here’s my David Blaine story (or lack thereof): I was riding to Ace Cafe in London to do the Ride with the Rockers ride to Brighton and a) I was totally terrified riding a motorcycle thru central London but my buddy did it as a daily commute – in any case I was using Zen-like focus to follow him, and stay alive and we crossed Tower bridge (this would’ve been 2nd week in Sept. 2003 early early on a Sunday morning). Once on the other side he pulled over and asked me, “Did you see that”? (“See what?”, I asked). “David Blaine in the box!”. Nope, sorry, I missed that. I was too busy staying alive.
