Disney actor Ross Lynch, 20, has been tapped to play the Wisconsin serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. A strange and interesting choice for the actor best known for playing Austin in Disney channel’s “Austin and Ally” and most recently the stage.
Perhaps in an effort to shed his childhood image (a now right of passage for child stars) the fair haired actor is taking on one of history’s most horrible human beings.
The movie, “My Friend Dahmer”, is based on a best-selling graphic novel by John Backder, one of Dahmer’s childhood friends.
Dahmer – who was convicted of killing and dismembering 17 boys in Milwaukee between 1978 and 1991. He also performed acts of necrophilia and cannibalism on many of his victims. Although according to director Marc Meyers the film is set during Dahmers adolescents, prior to his gorey adulthood.
