Yesterday, I reported that Lamar Odom was hospitalized and in critical condition after he was found unconscious and unresponsive at a Nevada brothel on Tuesday. Unfortunately, the news only gets worse from here, as not only has he not improved, but he’s fallen into a coma and is said to be experiencing heart failure, as well as kidney and lung problems. He’s breathing via a ventilator and has likely suffered brain damage as a result of his overdose, which is still believed to be accidental.
Here’s everything we know so far:
- Khloe Kardashian flew right out to the Vegas-area hospital to see Lamar upon hearing the news. She was accompanied by Kris Jenner (and, some have reported, several cameras… if true, this is disgusting, but let’s try to give them the benefit of the doubt, I guess — TMZ have said there were no cameras and the family is banning any such thing).
- It’s been revealed that Khloe and Lamar are still officially married so she’s in charges of making medical decisions in regards to Lamar. So tough and completely messed up.
- Pretty much “every drug imaginable” was reportedly found in Lamar’s system, including crack cocaine and “herbal viagra” pills called Reload, which were ordered off the shelves/ruled unsafe by the FDA a while back.
- Kendall, Kris, and Rob have all asked fans to continue praying for Lamar during this awful time.
To be honest, it’s really not looking good. It’s such a shame; Lamar has had a really messed up life, and this is just another tragedy that results from addiction. Drugs are so destructive, and that’s putting it lightly. Here’s hoping those who know and love Lamar can find peace, whatever happens, and that if he’s meant to pull through (and will still have any kind of quality of life if he does), that it happens.
So sad, the drugs are taking too many lives, we need to get help to those who use, even if they fail. If they keep trying they just might succeed.
