Well, this is happy news! Chrissy Teigen has been quite open in recent months about her struggles with fertility/conception, but it seems as if their continued efforts have paid off. Chrissy announced on Monday that she’s pregnant, and she and John Legend are happily preparing to welcome their first child together!
Here’s how she captioned the photo above on Instagram:
John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant :) As many of you know, we’ve been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We’re so excited that it’s finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching! Xx
This is cute. I’ve never paid much attention to either of them, to be honest, but they seem like a lovely couple, very understated (which is a miracle in Hollywood) and are clearly really looking forward to starting a family together, so congrats to them. Very happy news, indeed! (Though correct me if I’m wrong, isn’t it a bit of a faux pas to announce before the first trimester is through? From the looks of that photo, Chrissy is pretty early on! Here’s hoping everything goes well for them.)
Not so much a faux pas, as that the odds of something happening that will cause the loss of the pregnancy are more likely to happen in the first trimester. Once you pass that milestone the pregnancy is more likely to result in a live birth.
I am so happy for them, we went thru fertility treatments, and it is rough, everything is orchestrated, tests, blood draws, it takes over your life.
Maybe she is out of the first trimester and she’s just not showing yet. My friend was like that. Tiny, tiny, tiny, until about month seven, and then BAM!

I started reading your report about John Legend and Chrissy Tiegan’s announcement that they are expecting a baby. I thought OMG finally this woman is writing something positive and happy and kind. But then you just had to throw in that announcing pregnancy while in the first trimester is a “faux pax.” Very disappointing!
