Well this is bizarre and awful. Remember Ali Landry? Gorgeous, model/actress, former Miss USA, former Ms. Mario Lopez, current Ms. Alejandro Monteverde? She hasn’t been in the news much lately, but now she is, and for a horrible reason: her father-in-law and brother-in-law were kidnapped and found dead in Mexico.
Juan Manuel Gómez Fernández and Juan Manuel Gómez Monteverde, the father and brother of Landry’s film director husband Alejandro Monteverde, were found on September 19 near the remote town of Pueblo Viejo, according to a statement from the state’s attorney general. Landry’s representatives declined to comment for this story.
The report says that Fernández and Monteverde had suffered brain trauma and had been dead for several days before the bodies were found and identified by relatives. Fernández and Monteverde had been reported kidnapped on September 4.
According to the report, a vehicle allegedly used by the kidnappers was found, and an investigation by the attorney general’s office is ongoing.
So…WTF happened? Well, we don’t know. Apparently they were kidnapped in an area known for gang activity. And, according to The Latin Times, “Monteverde’s brother, Juan Manuel, was part owner of a restaurant in Tampico that had allegedly reported cartel dealings in the past.” So, okay, the picture is maybe a little clearer now.
