Hey, it’s been a while since we heard Miley Cyrus talk about herself. (Insert Mrs. Krabappel “HA!” here.) Whether she’s going undercover to find out what others have to say about her, or is revealing something about her past, Miley loves talking (and hearing) about Miley. Most of the time though, I ain’t even mad. I like that she says whatever she wants without really thinking about it. Sometimes she has a point, sometimes she doesn’t, but it’s usually entertaining.
Take her October 2015 interview with ELLE UK, for which Ms. Cyrus is the cover girl. She discusses her sexuality:
I’m very open about it – I’m pansexual. But I’m not in a relationship. I’m 22, I’m going on dates, but I change my style every two weeks, let alone who I’m with.
Her ability to get — and command — attention:
I was kind of embarrassed that I got paid money to shake my ass in a teddy bear costume. I should not be worth the amount I am while people live on the streets.
[…] If you get your tits out, and they are all looking, then you can use that space to say something and get them to listen.
And her thoughts on Robin Thicke (and their infamous MTV VMA performance):
[Thicke] acted like he didn’t know that was going to happen. You were in rehearsals! You knew exactly what was going to happen. And he was actually the one that approved my outfit, so I thought that was very funny. He wanted me as naked as possible, because that’s how his video [for Blurred Lines] was.
God, I read that and I just shiver.
So anywhere, here’s Miley, talking again. Are we listening? Are we getting a little tired of her? Or a LOT? Or have you gotten so tired of her that you’ve somehow broken through to the other side and you remember how much you love “We Can’t Stop” and suddenly you’re no longer tired of her? I think I’m that last one.
