Mariah Carey only started her residency at Caesars Palace Las Vegas last week… to less than rave reviews. Because of this, you might find it a bit suspect that suddenly she’s canceled her show this week because of “bronchitis”. Uh oh! That doesn’t sound like a promising start.
She shared her apologies on Instagram, as you do, and promised to reschedule the missed show:
Maybe she legitimately does have bronchitis, which is no good, and I hope she gets better. It just seems strange that she’s contracted this a week into a residency that was being shit on by critics and on the heels of people calling her out for not being able to hit the notes she used to hit with ease.
It has to suck for her, to be honest. She was literally one of the most successful and prolific female vocalists of the ’90s and in general, so to be losing some of the abilities you once had can’t be easy. But you can’t possibly tell me that Mariah is short on money and NEEDS this shit to stay afloat. I just don’t believe it. Of course, with famous people, it’s sometimes about the addiction to the spotlight and the fame itself more than it is the money or the “craft” of singing. I dunno, but it’s a shame.
