Katy Perry has been getting pumped up for her Super Bowl halftime show for a while now – posing on the cover of magazines, holding press conferences, racking up special guest stars… and finally, last night it was time for the BIG EVENT!
There was flying over the stadium, dancing sharks, fireworks (natch), MISSY ELLIOTT… it was craaaazy, and the whole thing went off as only a Katy Perry show could do. I thought it was a lot of fun, but I’m sure there’ll be some detractors.

And LENNY!! Woo hoo Lenny Kravitz for about 30 seconds, but he was there! Missy was awesome, but horribly lit, you could barely see her, or hear her, for that matter. I thought Katy Petty put on a fantastic show, even just for the flying through the air at the end firmly lashed to a teeny tiny platform. Just maybe less Katy during the Missy portion. Which was AWESOME
I was kinda hoping Snoop would be a guest for a song. I can take Katy or leave her for the most part.
I didn’t get to watch the Superbowl, so I’m really glad I got to watch this. She did such a good job and I really liked that she didn’t have to lip synch like so many people have done before. This was awesome.
I hate Katie perry!! She’s such an attention whore w her tacky outfits. It just seems like she tries to make it all about her. If she does one more sound that sounds like throat exercises going ” oh oh oh oh” — I’m going to pick up my couch and throw it through this window.
