Talk about a tale of finding love in a hopeless place! Charles Manson, who is now a ripe-old 80 years of age, is getting married to 26-year-old Afton Elaine Burton. Burton goes by the name “Star” for some reason and not only is she clearly insane, but she’s also the owner of a Charles Manson fansite and has spent several years trying to exonerate him for the endless crimes he’s committed.

No date has been set, but a wedding coordinator has been assigned by the prison to handle the nuptials, and the couple has until early February to get married before they would have to reapply.
Manson is imprisoned in California State Prison, Corcoran. His bride-to-be lives nearby and maintains several websites advocating his innocence.
The woman left her Midwestern home at 19 to move closer to Manson, who was convicted in the notorious murders of seven people, including pregnant actress Sharon Tate.
The wedding will likely happen in December, she told the Associated Press.
“Y’all can know that it’s true,” she said. “It’s going to happen.”
“I love him,” she added. “I’m with him. There’s all kinds of things.”
Isn’t that heartwarming? True love does exist! Keep in mind Charles is not eligible for parole until 2027, when he’d be in his mid-90s, and chances are he won’t last that long (nor will he get out when he IS eligible). What is wrong with people?!

So, if I understand correctly, a murderer/rapist with a swastika carved into his forehead can plan a marriage, but a law-abiding gay couple is still considered by many to be a threat to the sanctity of marriage.
