Zooey Deschanel made some comments recently for InStyle magazine that made me applaud. Well, I didn’t literally applaud my computer screen, but I sort of nodded and agreed internally. Like you do. She says that not every woman is “dying” to give birth and it brings out the “fiery feminist” in her. I say, you go Zooey. You go. Via Huffington Post:
Like every woman is dying to give birth! I don’t think so. Nobody asks guys that. And you go into a supermarket and every tabloid is like, ‘Pregnant and Alone!’ Stuck in the 1950s ideal of how a woman should live her life. This brings out the fiery feminist in me.
She’s right — NOT every woman is “dying to give birth” — I’m one of them, and I’m glad someone is voicing this.
I just wish InStyle didn’t photoshop the everloving Zooey out of her. This is what she looks like. I don’t know who is supposed to be on that cover (below). She’s so beautiful, I don’t know why anyone would attack her with photoshop the way that magazine did.
BUT ANYWAY, what do you think of her comments?
I can’t decide if these magazines are photoshopping her face like that or if she had some work done last year and that’s why she looks… different. Maybe a bit of both?
I think they’ve made her look like Jared Leto on that cover haha
