Amy Adams gave up her first class seat to a US soldier on flight to LAX

I feel like we don’t talk about Amy Adams enough. She’s lovely! She’s beautiful, talented, seems incredibly down-to-earth and is kind without the need to draw attention to herself. That latter quality was demonstrated on a flight to LAX on Friday when she gave up her first-class seat to a US soldier in coach.

From People:

The Oscar nominee was at the airport in Detroit on Friday when she spotted a soldier in uniform at her gate and then arranged to give her first class seat to the man, who had been ticketed in coach.

Jemele Hill, co-host of ESPN’s Numbers Never Lie, was also on the flight and Tweeted about what happened next.

“Just saw actress Amy Adams do something incredibly classy,” she wrote. “She gave her 1st class seat to an American soldier. I’m an even bigger fan now.”

“I don’t think he knows she did it,” she added.

“As I was getting seated, I saw the flight attendant guide the soldier to Ms. Adams’ seat. She was no longer in it, but it was pretty clear that she’d given up her seat for him,” Hill told ABC News. “I was incredibly impressed.”

Hill revealed that Adams, 39, whose father was in the U.S. military, briefly chatted to the soldier by the cockpit and then went back to her seat in coach.

“[She] did it so quietly and quickly that it speaks to her character,” Hill said. “And somebody in coach just got a helluva seatmate.”

Aw, isn’t that sweet? (Seriously – no sarcasm there.) I’ve always thought she seemed really lovely, and this just confirms it. More Amy Adams! Amy Adams for president!

  • Absolutely a PR stunt. She is quite lovely though, gotta say. I had the chance to spend time with her one evening & she’s real, y’all, down to earth girl. Good on her. F that PR however. Nothing’s done on the “downlow” & with humility in Hollywood.

  • was gonna say, if they just talked for a couple seconds, which of them which immediately whip out their phone for a photo op?

    • I know if a Hollywood A-lister gave me their seat and I got to meet them I’d whip out my phone for a selfie!

  • Oh wow guys no lets completely ignore the fact this was a really nice thing to do for a person who risks his life defends the freaking country and denounce it as a PR stunt because nothing good came out of this situation right? Good job on seeing the big picture assholes.

But seriously soldier guy enjoy it now and prepare yourself for getting royally screwed when you’re a vet.

    • I agree why are these ppl so cynical did they not see her father was military so she knows the sacrifice 1st hand. If you want to believe it was a “PR” move I hope you think “PR” stands for Proper Respect. Classy move Amy
