Hilary Duff Is Nervous About Returning to Music

Hilary Duff has been out of the spotlight for a good long while as she’s concentrated on being married and raising her son Luca and who knows what else, but now she’s ready for a return to the spotlight. Maybe the bank account is getting low or maybe she really misses it. Either way, she’s pretty nervous about getting back into the swing of things.

From The Winnipeg Sun:

“It’s such a different business now,” Duff told QMI Agency in an Canadian newspaper exclusive one-on-one interview.

“Honestly, it can be intimidating. I’m not comparing myself to (Miley Cyrus) but a lot of the things that go on in pop music or not me or who I am. Or not yet. Who knows what I’m going to wake up tomorrow and feel like? I really just try to come and be who I am … And one person that I think is a really good example is like Taylor Swift. She’s really honest with her lyrics and her stage show isn’t like some crazy thing that’s controversial. But I think what Miley Cyrus is doing is really cool and I think she’s being who she wants to be and that is important. And so I respect that.”

Can I just say how obnoxious it is that female stars feel the need to pretend like they need to pay all this homage to Miley Cyrus as if a) they actually like it and b) if they don’t come out and say how wonderful she is, they’ll be labeled haters or anti-feminist or whatever? Like, fuck that. You know half these stars are secretly like, “Oh shit, what a mess!” to say the least.

Back on topic, I’ve never listened to Hilary Duff and don’t think I’ll be starting anytime soon, but I’m sure some people will be pretty happy with her comeback if it pans out.

  • Bank account running low? HAH!! Chick built such an empire in those Lizzie years, so much merchandise, clothing, accessories etc.. she doesn’t seem like the type to throw cash all over the place either.
I’ve always liked Hilary Duff, she’s a sweetheart. Good for her.
