Taylor Swift is branching out into acting with a role in The Giver alongside Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges, which is CRAZY because who in the hell just walks into the movies with MERYL STREEP? I mean, come on! I know she did that bit part in Valentine’s Day and in New Girl, but this is serious. Luckily, Taylor has taken a lot from it and learned quite a lot from her foray into the world of the thespian.
From Access Hollywood:
“I couldn’t believe it was happening to me. I still can’t believe I shot in South Africa and shot all my scenes with Jeff Bridges. It was unreal. Seriously, I couldn’t believe I got to be a part of the experience.
And I just tried to work as hard as I could and just throw myself into that environment as much as I possibly could and it was really long hours and it was a lot of preparation and getting into character and all that. But it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Honestly.”
“I learned so much. It’s crazy how educational just getting into a situation and doing it [is]. You learn so much more, because I have taken acting classes and read as much as I possibly can on it and done theater before all this started, [but] you learn more by actually doing it than you could ever learn in preparation.”
Well, can’t argue with that. Oddly, The Giver wasn’t one of the books I ever read in school or during my leisure time (and I used to be a MASSIVE reader up to the past couple of years when I’ve got too busy to even have time to read one or two a year, let alone one or two a week). However, if Meryl is in something, I’m on board.
