Kanye West may have lost out on a few million by giving Kris Jenner first access to the first pics of North West, but he made up for it by performing at a wedding in Kazakhstan, where he apparently made $3 million at the president’s grandson’s ceremony on August 31. He had to play some of his… less abrasive hits for the occasion, but hey, he cashed in.
Our Central Asian sources tell us … Kanye was invited by President Nursultan Nazarbayev to perform at his grandson’s wedding Saturday night in Almaty at the Hotel Royal Tulip. Very nice.
We’re told Kanye was paid a hefty sum — in the neighborhood of $3 mil — to perform his big hits, including “Can’t Tell Me Nothing”. One of the wedding guests posted this video of KW on stage.
Well, that’s nice, I guess – but what’s with political leaders in that part of the world wanting to pay celebrities to perform at their private parties? I suppose it’s a good deal for the stars because they are basically getting paid over a million bucks an hour, but it all just seems a bit strange.
