Britney’s New Song Sounds A Lot Like Madonna’s Old One

Britney Spears has a smurfy new song for the new Smurfs movie that’s kind of a big load of smurf. But she may not have dropped this load of smurf all by herself. Lots of people have pointed out that Ms. Spears’ song, “Ooh La La” sounds a lot like Madonna‘s song “Superstar”, from her 2012 album MDNA. People are probably only noticing this just now because no one bought Madonna’s album, let’s be real. Madonna wrote and produced “Superstar”, along with ardy “Indigo” Muanza and Michael Malih.

“Ooh La La” came out in June of this year for the Smurfs 2 soundtrack. This load of smurf took 7 people to write (Bonnie McKee, J. Kash, Lola Blanc, Fransisca Hall, Lukasz Gottwald, Henry Walter, Joshua Coleman)  and 3 to produce (Dr. Luke, Cirkut, Ammo) and in the end, it does sound pretty similar to Madonna’s “Superstar”.

What do you think?

  • I think when you say “no one bought [MDNA]”, obviously I don’t know if you’re a fan or not but it went Gold in 11 countries including U.S.A., Platinum in 5, 2x Platinum in 3 & 7x Platinum in Russia.
It ended 2012 at #44 on the US Billboard 200 & #2 on the US Dance/Electronic Albums as well as debuting at #1 on those 2, the U.K. album chart & 19 other countries.
The tour was the highest-grossing tour of 2012 and 10th highest-grossing tour of all time, grossing $305.1 million in ticket sales for 88 sold-out shows.

Yes yes, I know it is her lowest selling album but at 1.8 million sold (as of December 2012), but that still makes the statement of “no one bought” an eyebrow raiser.

As for Britney’s song, yeah that way too close for a coincidence.

  • Nice try at creating a controversy over nothing… But,,, Not even close. Oh, well, yeah…. It does have the same word in it though.

  • I don’t give a crap either way but I cannot stand Britney Spear’s baby sounding singing voice. She sounds like those annoying chicks trying to be cute by using baby talk.
