Amanda Bynes Finally Called Her Parents

Amanda Bynes decided to reconnect with her parents, much to everyones’ relief. Unlike Jenny McCarthy’s “help” attempt, Bynes’ parents may actually be able to help her out of whatever it is she’s going through. If you haven’t been aware, Amanda Bynes has been acting erratic as all hell but says that she is not insane.

From Radaronline:

“Amanda reconnected with her parents this week and it was a really positive talk on both ends,” a source close to the embattled actress told Radar.

“Her parents are good people who are genuinely concerned for her. And Amanda misses them, so she finally called them up.”

According to the insider, the call went so well that a reunion might soon be in store for the Bynes family.

“The last place Amanda wants to be is Los Angeles. She likes New York and doesn’t want to leave,” the insider revealed.

“But Amanda’s parents really want to see her so they’re thinking of flying out to New York as early as next week.”

As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported two weeks ago, Amanda’s heartbroken family believed her bizarre behavior was a “cry for help,” but felt they were “powerless to do anything” because she refused their help.

But now, it seems there’s hope for Amanda’s parents Lynn and Rick to check in with their daughter and gauge how out of control she really is.

“Amanda is totally acting odd, but she’s not crazy at all like people are making her out to be,” the source told Radar.

“She’s just going through a hard time in her life and maybe not coping with it like she should be.”

If you were to take Bynes out of the whole thing and just look at what she’s doing objectively, she wouldn’t seem different than millions of other young women on Twitter. I guess it’s seeing what a drastic change there is from the Nickelodeon star we all remember that is worrying people. Here’s an interview Bynes did in 2007 that is shocking in how well spoken and level headed she was.

  • So…do you just have a really short memory? Millions of other young women do not walk around with one hair color one day and the next day change that hair color so they can claim someone was impersonating them the previous day. Millions of young women do not get kicked out of multiple aerobics classes for staring off into outer space and taking off their clothes. Millions of young women do not lock themselves in clothing store dressing rooms for so many hours that employees begin to worry about them. Millions of young women do not walk around town mumbling to themselves. Never mind that she was kicked out of her previous living space for smoking something she says she doesn’t smoke and was pulled over for driving under the influence even though she supposedly abuses no substances. I could go on, of course. This is someone who is not in touch with reality, and that is not normal.

    • Mike, I was referring to her Twitter activity of posting lots of photos of herself posing sexily in front of a mirror. I said it right here, dude: “If you were to take Bynes out of the whole thing and just look at what she’s doing objectively, she wouldn’t seem different than millions of other young women on Twitter.”

      • I did read that, but that sentence was followed by this one: “I guess it’s seeing what a drastic change there is from the Nickelodeon star we all remember that is worrying people.” Discerned meaning is a cumulative thing, and the “I guess” made you seem skeptical about the conclusions drawn by the general public, who are probably right on the money for once.

  • How sad for us and them, as a society, if this is how millions of other young women on Twitter, act every day, they really need to get a better fulfilling life.

  • Wow. The difference between that video and how she acts now really is shocking. Sad, too.

  • I’m thinkin the difference between now and then as far as that video goes. She had a tv show that kept her busy every day now she has money and nothing to do. She may be thinking WTH I’m 27 where did my youth go and where are all my “friends” from that time. It’s too bad and I hope her family can help her regain her what appeared to be a very normal happy former life.
