Morrissey Really Hated Margaret Thatcher

morrissey older

Morrissey spoke very freely yesterday on The Daily Beast regarding his feelings on Margaret Thatcher’s passing. Here’s what he had to say:

Thatcher is remembered as The Iron Lady only because she possessed completely negative traits such as persistent stubbornness and a determined refusal to listen to others.

Every move she made was charged by negativity; she destroyed the British manufacturing industry, she hated the miners, she hated the arts, she hated the Irish Freedom Fighters and allowed them to die, she hated the English poor and did nothing at all to help them, she hated Greenpeace and environmental protectionists, she was the only European political leader who opposed a ban on the ivory trade, she had no wit and no warmth and even her own cabinet booted her out. She gave the order to blow up The Belgrano even though it was outside of the Malvinas Exclusion Zone—and was sailing AWAY from the islands! When the young Argentinean boys aboard The Belgrano had suffered a most appalling and unjust death, Thatcher gave the thumbs-up sign for the British press.

Iron? No. Barbaric? Yes. She hated feminists even though it was largely due to the progression of the women’s movement that the British people allowed themselves to accept that a prime minister could actually be female. But because of Thatcher, there will never again be another woman in power in British politics, and rather than opening that particular door for other women, she closed it.

Thatcher will only be fondly remembered by sentimentalists who did not suffer under her leadership, but the majority of British working people have forgotten her already, and the people of Argentina will be celebrating her death. As a matter of recorded fact, Thatcher was a terror without an atom of humanity.

MORRISSEY.

Morrissey is of course quite good friends with controversy and never shies away from speaking his mind.

What do you think of his manifesto?

  • Amen! As a girl growing up in Britain in the 80’s, the fawning over her makes me wanna vomit. She took the Great out of Britain and sold our industry from under us.She was the architect for all that is wrong with with this country’s demise.I for one don’t mourn her passing and neither does the majority of the Working-Class British.

    • Yeah the three day week and rats in the streets feasting on uncollected garbage was much better. What a pity we did not end up with Arthur Scargill as PM and become a Soviet Republic.

    • Absolutely. I live in Liverpool and twenty years after you can see how much she fucked up the whole of Merseyside and the North, and Scotland. I don’t know one single working class person who’s mourning her. Rather, they (we) are celebrating.

      • Not one? Small group you circulate in.

The North was destroyed by the unions. Northerners were too dumb to see what was happening. You got what you deserved.

  • She was voted in for 3 terms by the British people – unlike our current goverment – she made difficult decisions and stuck by them. Morrissey seems to have conveniently forgotten 3 day weeks at the hands of the unions prior to being prime minister. I’m not going to claim that all her choices were the right ones but she did some very good things for Britain. People like Morrissey have selective memories when it comes to Thatcher.

      • Funeral cost 3 million. Most of that went to paying the police who were needed to stop disruption by protesters complaining about the, er, cost of the funeral……

Incidentally, Thatcher fought for our EU rebate. Amount so far? 75 BILLION – and going up by a million an hour, EVERY hour. I’d say she earned her state funeral.

  • I haven’t read the article, but since yesterday, when the old lady died, the internet has exploded. I have never seen so much hate so quickly, she’s hadn’t even gone cold in her grave yet. I understand that most people have a very strong opinion about her, however wait until she’s had her funeral!

  • Sorry, Morrissey’s just another left winger / wanna-be communist who is so far removed from reality he needs to be displayed in a public square somewhere so citizens whose brains actually function can hurl rotten fruit and vegetables at him as he spews his contempt for everybody at them.

Thatcher did more good for Britain than she gets credit for. And Morrissey whining about the Argentinian conflict is rich. Like a typical lefty, he’s all ready to give up when a bully challenges them. If he were running Britain at the time, the British citizens of the Falklands would be subject to an idiotic, corrupt Argentinian government now and would be speaking Spanish as their official language.

    • wanna-be communist? lol. You sound like some idiot yank who’s ideology’s straight from the 50’s.Bet you’re still hating on old Fidel
      Castro for his “Un-American agenda”
Thatcher did more good for Britain than she gets credit for? I’m guessing you know f’all about British politics m8 as your statement sounds as stupid as you do.George W.Bush may have bankrupted America but at least he never sold off ALL American trade to the lowest foreign bidders.Read a book “Chuck” (seriously, chuck? lol)

      • As a Briton who lived through Thatcher, I’d say it is you who knows f*ck all. Name something bad she did, and I’ll prove it’s bullshit. You can’t have the poll tax, because even her strongest supporters admit that one was a disaster.

School milk? Withdrawal started by Labour.
Mines? Wilson closed five times more.
City deregulation? She introduced more regs than any other PM.
Right To Buy? A Labour idea she copied.
No council houses? She built more than any PM since.

        Any more?

  • just seen on yahoo that ppl are downloading that old wizard of oz song ding dong the witch is dead 2 celebrate thatcher dying (it’s number 1 on amazon mp3 chart lol) the british are witty, i’ll give em that
