Melrose Place Star Goes To Jail For Fatal Crash

Amy Locane-Bovenizer

Amy Locane-Bovenizer, who played Sandy Harling on Melrose Place and Allison in Cry Baby, was sentenced to 3 years for killing a 60 year-old woman in a car crash. Ms. Locane-Bovenizer was drinking and driving, with a BAC of almost 3 times the legal limit. The judge granted her a lenient sentence because of her two children who require medical assistance. Her husband, however, didnt think it was lenient enough, as it’s claimed he shouted, “What a travesty!” immediately after the sentencing. EDIT: IT WAS NOT HER HUSBAND, BUT THE VICTIM’S HUSBAND WHO YELLED THIS. APOLOGIES FOR THE MISTAKE.

I can’t even imagine how horrible everyone feels in this situation, from the family of the victim, to Locane0-Bovenizer and her family. There have been quite a few actresses who seem to have trouble driving and I wonder had they killed someone if they would have gone to jail and actually stayed there for more than a few hours. Not that I wanted them to kill anyone! I’m just wondering what will it take for jail to stick. What sad horrible thing has to happen? And when these things do happen, the inevitable discussion is, “Is the law too easy on Hollywood celebrities?”

What do you think? Was her sentence too light? Do you think others get way with too much?

  • I’ve seen some regular women who were drinking and drugging and killed someone driving whom didn’t do a day in jail too. I wish they would have. I’m sure they didn’t learn anything and will repeat the actions leading to the death.

  • I think the real travesty was that this woman wasn’t thinking about her children when she decided to drink and then get behind the wheel of a car and drive. It’s a pity for her kids, but this is the law.

  • She KILLED someone. Three years is a travesty? Her husband is delusional. That drinking & driving moron took someone’s mother, sister, wife, daughter, friend. Unbelievable.

  • The real travesty is that a woman is dead. Her jail sentence is way too short. Ive read of people going to jail for 5 years because they possessed a 1/4 pd. of weed. The whole system is jacked. I’ll bet one of her big money producers knew a judge or some crap like that.

  • Drunk drivers get shown way too much leniency from the first DUI and it usually leads to a tragedy like this one. The bigger the celebrity the less time they seem to have to serve and it’s crap.

  • She’s taken another persons life due to her neglectful decisions,
And she’s frickin boo hoo’ng,Bitch please! Three yrs doesn’t compare to life time that the victims family will serve in mourning or how about her own family that’s having to do the time too?

  • The husband showed he doesn’t get it either. Self-entitled twerps think three years is too much for actions SOLELY caused by their decision to drink and drive? The judge should have tacked on another year just because of her idiot husband’s outburst.
